My name is Amy (hiiiiii Amy......)

...and I bought a designer gown (Romona Keveza that I've been obsessing over). There, I admit it. Yes, I choked while I signed the CC slip, yes, I know I'm only going to wear it for one day, yes I know I've just totally blown my budget early in the game....

All kidding aside.... how much would I REALLY expect to spend on a veil? Yes, the dress is silk, should I splurge further on a silk veil? The veil in the dress shop was 410.00. I said, nah.... I'm already forking over enough cash. I want a cathedral length veil for the ceremony, but something shorter for the reception. What would you all recommend? For those that HAD cathedral length veils for the entire day, what did you DO with it? The dress shop ladies mentioned carrying it over my arm....I couldn't imagine doing that all night.
Suggestions....?
Amy
PS. No pics yet.... I'll take pics once the dress comes in.....

it is possible to bustle your veil and dress together if you want to keep the catherdral veil on

i am going to have a catherdral and fingertip veil - and just keep the fingertip veil on for reception

if you want to get a silk veil - Bethsair found the cheapest way to do it - www.sewdeb.com - the fabric is ordered from england and she puts it together

I'm also doing the cathedral and fingertip length veil. I'll just detach the cathedral before the reception. When I got my dress at Wedding Salon, they mentioned that they can custom-make veils. The one I tried on with my dress had Swarovski crystals and it was $500-ish, but I don't think it was silk.

I am having the same dilemma...spent way too much on my dress and now have to buy among other things a cathedral length veil for $450. A few girls on this site have used sewdeb.com to have their veils made. They have the material sent in from the UK (better quality) and she sews the veil. Comes out about half the price. I have been emailing her with a lot of questions this last week and she has been extremely helpful. I think I'm going to go for it.
I am not planning on wearing my veil at all at the reception so I can't help you on the other questions. But, if you could get each veil for half the price, you could get 2 veils.

I just have to say.... i have looked all over for a silk veil so i did order a sample from hansons (UK) where others got this 'so called' silk but i received the sample and i was told by a very wise person that..... it is not silk
the 'silk' i received stretched and silk DOES NOT stretch nor does it come in several colors which this one did

i think i might go with a blend now

I bought a silk veil, which cost a pretty penny. I'll bump the pic. It's a pretty penny.
