My new DOC!
FH is a teacher and has been off all of this week and is off til the beginning of September.
We're moving in a month so I told him...
Get stuff done now. Pack now. Because I'm not helping you pack. I have to pack myself and there's labor day weekend and the weekend following when we take our engagement pictures that we are going to be busy doing other things.
So he's been good... packing things he doesn't need.
But I've been sort of annoyed that he hasn't been like 'What wedding stuff can I get done while I'm off?' and so we sort of got into a little tiff about it this morning.
Of course he's willing to do whatever I ask but I'm like 'I hate wedding stuff now. I don't want to do any of it. I don't want to put you to work... I want you to split this and do the rest of it with me. I don't want to ASK you to do anything.'
And it escalated and blah blah blah. So eventually I just came out with:
'You're in charge now. You can make whatever decisions to want. I'll tell you what I have done... and you can figure out what else needs to be done and you can be in charge of it.
I'll be happy to help... but you have to ask me and tell me what to do. You can delegate as much as you want but you're in charge of making sure everything gets done that you want done.
We can make no other plans if you want but if you show up to an undecorated reception - then it's your fault not mine.'
And obviously I'm not serious but... I'm going with it. I'm sick of wedding planning. He can do a big chunk of the rest of it. And I don't really care![]()
He called an hour ago and I said 'Oh! How's my wedding planner doing?'
He thinks I'm joking but... just watch.
