soooo as you may or may not know..im trying to find a place to have a ceremony
so i went to planting fields today and saw Coe Hall
it was gorgeous...its an old mansion that is currently a 'museum' but they rent it out for events
I just absolutely love the mansion feel...the price was a little high, but I think its worth it for my sanity and happiness
only problem is I have to wait a week or 2 to make sure the space is available bc they are planning an event for the weekend of my wedding, they are not sure what room they will be using
sooooooooooo while i was on the North Shore, I decided to go check out Bailey Arborteum and Chelsea Mansion
NOT GOOD AT ALL!!!
Bailey arboretum looked like a dump, I hope I dont offend anyone
but the exterior buildings were so gross and run down, I didnt even get out of my car
and Chelsea Mansion same thing...you have to travel through this dirt road all bumpy with big holes, pass by these dirty apartments with peoples bbqs and garbage outside, like stepsssss away from the mansion!!!!
and the mansion exterior was so ugly, I didn't get out there either!
please cross your fingers that planting fields works out, i reallllly liked it!!!!!
p.s. the homes/MANSIONS in muttontown are ridiculousssssssssssssssss, I couldnt believe that people live in this beautiful homes!!! I passed so many on my way to all these places!

I was super excited to go see it, I made an appt today and everything...but I was so disappointed when I pulled up, the grounds were not nice at all, I was shocked because after seeing their site, I had this beautiful image in my head
I still appreciate you giving me the idea tho!

Ugh, I can't imagine having to go venue shopping for the ceremony too! How frustrating
Good luck though! I know you said North Shore near Muttontown, but where else are you open to looking, like how far from RH?

Yeah, when i pulled up with my mom and grandma, without even going in the mansion, they said NO WAY. There were pot holes in the dirt road, my grandma had to be helped stepping over roots from big trees etc. I don't want anyone breaking a hip on my special day lol.
Planting fields or bailey is being redone.. i dont remember which one because i saw so many... but you should ask or look that up to check.
Did you try coindre hall?? or hempstead house???

Muttontown is NUTS! I work right over there... and it is CRAZZY! I work in Brookville, and houses there, muttontown, oyster bay, east norwich all those surrounding aread are super huge and GORGEOUS! lol make me sad that I am not rich! haha

Another frustrating step to the wedding planning. Noone realizes how hard it is to find the right place. Some people are easy going but unfortanetely im not one of those people. My poor FH I have dragged him from on part of the island to the other to try and find the outdoor/cocktail hr beautiful ballroom, gardens and or water view that im exhausted. We still haven't found anything we like more than where we are booked already. It just stinks when you have an image in your mind of what you want and u can't have it.. ONLY CHILD syndrome right here.....

bailey is being redone, the guy told me to call back in may to set up a visit, so we'll see where im at in may and maybbbee ill give them a second chance

Glad it worked out for you, and you feel a little less streesed.
I am taking my epics at Planting Fields next month, it's gorgeous there.
FH's cousin lives at Bailey's and is the caretaker of the grounds there. I am not a big fan of the place either, but in the summer the grounds are supposedly gorgeous when everything is in bloom.

Not sure if they do ceremony only, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.. i am sure they can accommodate you..
