I just came home and found out that my older sis is engaged!!! I am so happy for her and I will probably get her addicted to this site! However, I feel bad for my parents. I cannot believe that we are both going to be planning weddings at the same time!

Yeah, I am not sure when she is planning for but I hope she waits a bit after ours lol! We are pretty much paying for our own and she probably will too but my parents are contributing a little bit and I am sure they want to be able to do the same for her.

i think the $$$$ gets tricky for the shower part. My mom had a 5K budget on gifts for my bro's shower and she is spending about twice that on mine (which was supposed to be ~3 months later) b/c she is paying for everything (sit down dinner, centerpieces, buying our comforter set, lingerie, got us Kosta Boda favors etc.) It was going to come out to sooo much for her. I felt so horrible so I was helping her.......maybe you guys can just chip in a little, maybe order the invites or pay for the favors????? Everything always works out in the end.

congrats to ur sister! I know how you feel....i'm getting married this year and my brothers wedding is next year. My mom is giving us both a lump sum. I feel bad, but i think she's been saving for us since we were babies
