My own embarrassing question-

Original post by lori7570

To the ladies on the pill (ok don't want to exclude the guys so if your on the pill feel free to respond!! )

Do you feel since being on the pill that your sex drive has gone down?? A lot of people I talk t feel this way, myself included...just curious...

I hope I don't get kicked off...but this is a medical question right??

Re: My own embarrassing question-

I've been on a few different ones, but I've noticed on the new one (ortho lo) my drive has decreased, I've been meaning to talk to my doctor about this but he's like 30 mins from me.....I guess its made me lazy too!

Mine has definitely gone down too. There was a time when I didn't get my refill in time so I was off for like a month. It's amazing what a difference there was! I've switched 3 times (only once for this reason) and nothing's changed.

I have been on the pill for about 10 years and I can't stand having sex. I never want to. I have no libido...

Anyone have a good solution for this? Did going off the pill really help, or is there a better one (I so do not want to get preggo right now)
I think my husband is about to lose grip if he doesn't get some soon, and I don't even notice how long it's been :)

I definitely did, but I know that not everybody does. I'm actually going to my doctor next month to talk to her about it--I know that it doesn't HAVE to be like that, so I'm really interested to see the alternatives.

sing it sister! I'm the same way. It's not that I dont love FH but I have no desire to do it with him...or even with anyone else. There are a million times Id rather do. I dont even wanna have sex with myself.

I was on the pill but since i was on it for so long it was actually giving me liver problems so i'm off of it now so now i'm scared to used other forms (like the patch, etc)

I was on the pill for 8 years and I went off the pill about a month and a half ago (i was on it for medical reasons, not just birth control reasons) and I feel like a totally different person not being on it...My moods are more stable, my sex drive is starting to come back...Its a totally different experience now!!

if youre on the ring... i just wanted to tell you it made me INSANE... i know everyone reacts differently to BC but i had to stop taking it.. i was crazyyyy!

See the ring was the only one that worked out well for me. With the pills I was either insane or got my period every 2 weeks. The patch kept peeling off and just didnt seem right. The ring worked great for me. Weird how different it is for everyone.

Ugh this happened to me too, I have been on it for 5 years or so, and it just started happening about a year ago. I spoke to my doc and she switched my pill but it still hasn't helped. it really stinks. ALso, my doc told me they dont make the patch anymore because it started to cause blood clots and stuff. ahh i feel all of your pain.

Re: My own embarrassing question-

I have this too but I never thought it was the pill since I've been on it since a teenager- long before I started 'coupling'.

I'm not too quick to blame the pill because we all have so much going on right now. Stress is coming at us from all angles, and honestly when I get home all i want to do is veg out, sleep, or catch up on the TV I've missed.
