My parents dont think i should go to cocktailhour

they are afraid someone might accidentally spill something on my dress..... FH really wants to go ..im still undecided ...anyone not going ..Why? or anyone letting their FH go alone ..thoughts?

i think you should skip your entire wedding and sit upstairs in your house in a bubble. you never know, it might rain, something might get on your dress on your way to the hall, or someone might spill on you during the reception part. better safe than sorry.

if you want to go to your CH, go!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I say go! You take your pictures before so if something happens, something happens. You dont want to spend your day worrying about getting dirty! Be careful but most of all, enjoy yourself!

i am not going to mine cause i will be taking pics but def go!! just be careful thats all i dont think anyone will be too drunk by then to be staggering around with food lol

I say GOOOOOOOO! I am going but I am eating in the bridal suite first then I am going out to greet everyone.

I dont want to miss a second of my wedding!

If you want to go, you should go! Anyone could spill something on you at anytime, so avoiding CH won't really solve that possible problem.

I'm not going to mine because I'm going to be taking pics, and I kind of like the whole not seeing the majority of the people til I get announced - I feel like it makes the announcement into the reception more exciting. It's just my personal preference.

I would say don't let your FH go to CH if you don't go. It's not fair that he should get to go and eat and drink while you're by yourself!

you need to go! And if you don't then FH can't go either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only reason I can think of that people don't go to CH is if they are taking pics.

You need to celebrate!

I would go too. You will be able to talk to more people that came to your wedding and then you will be able to enjoy yourself more during the party!!!

So we extended our cocktail hour by a half hour just because I NEEDED to go...yeah well what a waste of friggin money because by the time I was ready to go in, I was swooped away to get ready for our entrance into the reception...I was like NOOOOOOOOOO!!!. We did walk in, and then we walked out. I pointed to things that I wanted to eat and they were waiting for me to eat while people changed rooms. I was sadddddddddddd.

If you can go then you must go!!!!!!

everyone and their mother is going to have an opinion on what you should & shouldn't do at your wedding....but here is the key -

IT IS YOUR WEDDING!!!!!!!!! This is YOUR day (and by your - i mean you & FH). If you will regret not going, GO. Simple as that!

i was really affraid of someone messing me too, but went anyway

we ate in the BS (covered w/ table cloth) then by the time we wnet to the ch ppl had already been sitting and ate.

it was good b/c i got to say hello to ppl and not have to do it at the reception. Good thing b/c there was so much going on at the reception that if i didnt go the ch i wouldnt have been able to say hi
