I dont even know what to do. We're on such a tight budget...we cant spend a dime over $1900. Our package was perfect....we were getting 8 hours of coverage, 2 parent albums, one wedding album, a CD with all images, one 16x20, thank yous, etc. I DOUBT we can find a deal like it with anyone else. we're getting our deposit back, but I'm so worried....we loved his work and we had such a great package. He emailed me today to say he's no longer going to be working in the business....
UPDATE: Thankyou to ALL of you! I was sooo worried last night that we wouldnt find anyone who could work with our budget. Its so annoying to do all this work and book someone you are so confident in, just to have to go back and do it all again! You were all SO helpful and I looking into all of your suggestions. Thanks to STBMrsDaniRella, I have an appoinment with Gary Leli from Leli Photography on Sunday -- He was SOOO nice on the phone and helped me with everything (and of course, he's going to work with our budget)!!!!!!! I cant wait to see his work in person. FH and I have started to look at this mishap as a blessing in disguise! I'll let you all know how it goes on sunday

Definitely check out Marianela Vera! I saw Bill's work in action (hmpena) and if you booked him, you'd definitely fall in love w/her work.
Her prices are right up your alley.

totally agree! i was in a situation where i had to get a new photographer and my budget was like yorus....christine recommended her and she's gonna do our wedding.
what you truly need right now is the COVERAGE. i know his package was great with all the albums and such--but if you can hold off paying for that stuff till AFTER the wedding--and just pay for the coverage now, that will definitely be a $$ saver. cause really, you won't even DO the albums for months after wedding....so why pay for it all now?

Good luck Jenn...please let us know what happens! I forgot to recommend Marianela Vera too- she was on the budget wedding vendor page a knottie created (I have to find that website for you) and I checked out her work- it's beautiful. You can definitely afford her!
When I go home I'll try to find that budget vendor page and send you the link!! There might be more options from there too so you can make your decision.
ETA: found it with the handy dandy LIW search- what on earth would we do without that?

Please please please recommend a photographer who has maybe a similar package and prices UNDER $2000.

I'm so, so sorry that this happened to you.
You've already gotten great names here that you can start looking. I won't recommend mine either until he pulls through for me. He's not an LIW vesndor. Hopefully he will be after he does my pics.
Did you ask your photographer who he would recommend. I'm sure since he's in the field and no longer doing photographey, he would be able to get you a good deal with someone else. Try that option and see what happens.

There is a budget vendor website at www.geocities.com/budgetvendors. That's where I found our photog, Peter Jacobsen. But there are many others there with good prices including him, Marianela Vera and Jennifer David. Good luck! Don't fret, you have loads of time to find someone.
