My photographer's phone went off during the ceremony! HELP!
So we got married on 9/21 had a wonderful ceremony, reception, honeymoon, and first few months of married life. Great!
During our ceremony, our photographer's phone went off twice during the ceremony. It was obviously hers and she did silence it after running across the room to get it. So there was the distraction of the noise as well as she wasn't able to capture each moment when she had to run over.
Now we have our meeting with her to review our photos and begin our album work.
What would you suggest as something as compensation for it. I don't want it swept under the rug. But I most def think something should be done about it.

This is a tough one! I'm sorry that happened- it was probably an honest mistake but unprofessional nonetheless. I think this does give you some leverage for maybe a print credit or something like that but I think what you can get as far as compensation really depends on what your original package already includes. I wouldn't expect money back but maybe a discount off the balance is possible? I would also suggest looking at your photos first. If you don't feel she missed anything during the ceremony and she is apologetic, maybe you could chalk it up to an honest mistake.

We are getting a canvas print from her, our photos, we upgraded our album, and we did the video with her as well. We did pay a good chunk of money. I'm sure I'm missing something in the package. But I was not too thrilled when it was her phone and she's the lead/owner of her photography business. She's also very well known in Manhattan and has photographed some big name weddings in NY and higher events. So I feel like she might have dropped the ball a little here.

I def think it should be addressed - its very unprofessional even if it is an honest mistake, she should know better!

Other than her apologizing and giving you a few extra prints I dont see her doing much for you. Its not a breach of contract as long as she fulfills the order. Unexpected things happen. She was unprofessional and should have made sure it was off but it didnt change the outcome of what her job was. Sorry it happened and you were upset on your special day but i'm sure you will have beautiful pictures.

I feel that a review is worth so much so if she doesn't do anything to rectify it, I would post it in a review. I wouldn't be ruthless or nasty rather I would just mention the facts.
