My placecard design

My placecard design

I just took a few minutes at work today to play around with some designs for my placecards. I downloaded an orange leaf from google images and just put in the names ... well, one or two .. don't really know who's coming yet so I can't do this until Sept. or so, but I like to plan ahead. At least I have the design now! What do you think? The first is the placecard design and the second is the placecard holder / favor.

Thanks! I am on a ROLL so far this week. I did my table numbers quickly yesterday (just formatted in powerpoint) and then I played with this today. I may even format all the placecards for everyone invited this week, so that they are ready to print when the time comes - before I print I can just remove the people who aren't coming and add table numbers.

SO EXCITING to be doing these little projects!

Awesome! I like it! Its good to be ahead of the game. Did you buy the placecards yet? Just an FYI...I got mine and they were punch outs and were a pain in the a$$. I could not punch them out nicely...the ends looked alittle shredded! So i ended up using my paper cutter for all of them and it took awhile! Thank god my mom and BM helped...saved a lot of time!

Thanks for that tip. What did you buy, business cards? That is what I was planning on using, but then I thought about buying cardstock and just using the business card template (to get them to be a uniform size, etc) and just cutting all the sheets into 8. I don't think that would take as long ... not sure though. You probably had to trim all the individual cards, right, to get the shredded edges off? That would drive me insane!!!

Did you do your placecards on Powerpoint too?

Actually, I went into word and went to tools - letters and mailings - labels and envelopes - and then clicked on the label tab when the little box popped up. in the lower right hand corner they tell you what label is formatted currently, so if you click on that box, it will give you an option of what 'label' you want to print a sheet of - I just picked one of the business card ones - and hit 'new document.' you will then have a template that divides the page up into 8 squares, perfect for printing out placecards. Hope that is clear!
