I took him in Monday and the doctor said he isnt doing well, his chest is tight and his lungs dont sound well.
Nebulizer every 4 hours
Then on Wednesday (today) he had a follow up and she seems even more concerned (getting scared now)
Nebulizer every 4 hours and if he doesnt do better they are going to put him on steroids again Last time that was HORRIBLE.
She said he has a reactive airway which is a type of asthma? I have to give him a treatment at midnight, again at 4 am and then at 8. He cant go to preschool for a regular day.
When is my baby going to stop having these problems?

Re: My poor son is on a nebulizer again
Ugh, sorry to hear that. Does he usually have problems this time of year? Everyone I know with asthma problems is really suffering lately due to the humidity.

Re: My poor son is on a nebulizer again
thanks. Hes had pneumonia (bad) two times since last November. I lost my job because of it and my union fought so I could have it back I dont know what Im going to do if he gets it again this year
Now this. The doctor tells me he cant go without for longer than 4 hours. What happens when I go back to work? His school wont asdminister it - Im sure of it. I dont know anyone who can go do it for me.
The wedding was NO stress compared to work, my thesis and my son being sick Oh and buying a house

Thanks girls - I had asthmatic symptoms as a kid and was on an inhaler, but nothing like this. Every 4 hours!

Re: My poor son is on a nebulizer again
Amy, they really won't give him the nebulizer at his day care?? I used to work at a daycare and there were always like five kids up in the front getting nebulizer treatments. I don't think they can deny him the treatment that he needs, I would look into it further, to me that would sorta be discriminating against him if they don't do it, its a medical necessity. They don't have anyone there trained for medical emergencies? I would check with them again and if they refuse to give him the treatments, I would check and see if they can do that. I hope your son is feeling better soon!!

Re: My poor son is on a nebulizer again
It is possible that his medical needs require that either a parent or a trained medical professional to administer the nebulizer. If there is no body at his preschool who is licesed to administer medication, then the cannot legally do it. At my school, only the nurse can give medication - if we go on trips, I am not allowed to even so much as give a child his asthma pump even if he is in the middle of an attack.
