My Pronovias gown hunting experience... Pics in my album!

So yesterday was Day 1 of my search for a wedding gown. I'd previously mentioned that I was heading to Pronovias to start the process. Well, though my mom and I had a great time, I didn't really fall in love with any particular dress. I am rather busty (36C-D) and most gowns were cut very low on top. The only gown I liked was almost $4,000 -- and for that price tag, I better freaking LOVE LOVE LOVE the dress. That aside, we had a great time and I got a real feel for what I now want. After Pronovias, we checked out RK Bridal on 39th which was a MADHOUSE! I had no idea what to expect, but I think they have every wedding gown ever made! I didn't try anything on (there was a waitlist) but the saleswomen seemed very helpful. It was a lively, spirited store.

Lastly, we visited the Demetrios salon in Macy's Herald Square. There were a few gowns I LIKED, but again, didn't get that 'oh my God this is the one' feeling. It wasn't a complete waste -- I actually bumped into a girl I went to high school with -- she was trying on wedding gowns right next to me!

After an exhausting day in the city, I stopped by Adrienne's in Islip today. Well, I am in LOVE with three gowns they have there! Heading back with mom to try them on again. I think I found my bridesmaid dresses too! The girls will get 15% off if I order my gown there.

But the BEST thing about this weekend is we booked our band this morning! We put a deposit down for After Hours Entertainment -- Phil is awesome! We are super super excited. I am so relieved that everything is all coming together.

RK bridal is a madhouse on weekends. I got my bm gowns from there and i made sure to go on a weekday and it was empty when we went. But i had to go back on a saturday with 1 bm who didnt get to go during the week and wow it was insane.

Sadly, that dress is a 2008 and they don't carry it anymore! Aside from the first gown in my 'Dress ideas,' all the Pronovias gowns I liked were 2008. They only had one in (the one with the straps) which was the really expensive one. It was so-so on me; I felt like a lot of them made me look chubbier than I actually am! There are mirrors EVERYWHERE at Pronovias and it was a real wakeup call that I need to kickstart the bride workout/diet program!

Sounds like you had a great dress shopping experience! At least you found 3 that you really like... Listen, when you find the right one you will know, TRUST ME!

Thanks ladies! It's hard to tell in this picture, but my boobs are SPILLING out of it! Though, the sample was a size smaller than the rest.... This was my favorite out of the Pronovias bunch as well. Love sweetheart necklines with wide-set straps..... I will head back to order it if I end up not finding anything else!

Thanks ladies! It's hard to tell in this picture, but my boobs are SPILLING out of it! Though, the sample was a size smaller than the rest.... This was my favorite out of the Pronovias bunch as well. Love sweetheart necklines with wide-set straps..... I will head back to order it if I end up not finding anything else!

if its smaller than that explains it. Dont worry they will fit it perfectly so you are not spilling out and once its in your size it will fit perfectly. I am a 36D and NEVER thought i'd wear a strapless but I did and they measure you to make sure that the top will fit you

That one was beautiful, I agree the right size would probably be fine, and if not I am sure they can adjust it to fit you, especially since its the factory store. And they don't charge for alterations.

Thanks! Phil is SO easygoing -- I trust him implicitly. I had researched other bands who were SO PUSHY with me and it really turned me off. As soon as we met with Phil yesterday I automatically knew that we'd book.

Now as soon as I find a dress, I can relax for a few months!

that is gorgeous on you! but keep shopping for a little bit if its not the perfect dress, maybe something even more perfect will come along and you know now really what works for you
