I would cut out the assemble kits line just because I picture someone stuffing boxes.

That means something in publishing though.

Yes, it does. Though sadly, part of it is packing boxes.

well, that's becuse it is sales & marketing related. Sales & marketing involves lots of boxes.

LOL sorry, I didn't know what it meant!

Objective:
To captivate and capture an audience with the creative power and pizzaaz of 'the pen' and the written word. Also via strong interpersonal, research and organizational skills be instrumental in contributing to the positive growth and upward mobility of a prominent publishing organization.

i'm with tourist and don't dig the wordiness, however it's a personal preference and style. i was also taught that colloquialisms and quotes were big no-no's.

i replaced objective with summary a few years ago and basically give a quick snapshot of my interests and proven abilities, it's worked well for me...

i did notice the mix of tenses -

2000-2005 - Prepared, Read, Co-edited, etc.
1999-present - Teach

i understand that present would make sense for a current job but why is it listed at the bottom and not at the top?

i would expand more in general, good luck!

Re: My resume

I would leave out the objective. That's my own persoanl preference. A lot of Recruiters look for it, a lot of them feel it is a waste. I always remember one person telling me that an objective limits you - and I've really kept with that.

Also, take the References Available Upon Request off. That is assumed.

Re: My resume

i didnt read every comment so i'll just add mine that i think

instead of objective... you can use a Profile
which is a short two-three sentence paragraph to sum up who you are.

Extensive knowledge and expertise of the auto finance industry. Consistently exceeds goals and objectives. Self-motivated team player with excellent presentation and problem-solving skills. Goal driven time manager able to multi-task and expedite results.

The teaching job is a part time thing that I have been doing while working in publishing.
The jobs for which I am applying are in publishing so I put them first.

Maybe I should rearrange things and stick it right after the job from which I was just downsized.
