My Review on Kamila / B-pics

I am writing this because a bunch of people have FMed me about my post. I am in no way trying to start drama. I have been thinking about this for a long time. The more I think about it, I feel that I should just be honest. People are paying a lot of money for these pictures and should know how I felt about my experience.

I did a group session in the nyc, with a some liw girls. It was a lot of fun to hang out with the liw girls. I was the second girl to go in our group. I was really nervous. I feel that Kamila gave almost no direction. I would do a pose and then she would take some photos and said you can change - I had asked her if they looked good or if there was a way to hide my stomach or should I move more etc. and she just answered that I was doing fine. After a few outfit changes she showed me some of the photos on her camera and I got scared because out of 20 pictures I liked one maybe. . . . I asked her more questions about the poses and she just said you are doing fine - the photo shoot was done in 30- 35 minutes with 5 outfit changes. I felt rushed and almost like she did not want to be their. She was very nice but super shy which made me feel uncomfortable.

So she told us that we would get the photos in 3 weeks and maybe teasers - No teasers and it took her 4 weeks to get the photos to us.

When I looked through them, I don't think they came out as bad as I thought they were going to - I even posted some. Some photos were awful – my face looks like a man – I have never seen that angle and I never want to see it again

When I took time to pick photos for the album - out of the 105 photos I received, I liked 12, and love 1 photo BUT most of them are the same pose and outfit that I liked.

I emailed her and asked if I get any money back if I don't get an album and I explained that I don't want an album with the same pose with the same outfit in it 5 different times.

And she responded “hummmm what about a bigger album 8.5 x 11 with less photos – maybe 10?” I still have not responded - this was 2 months ago. I took my photos in January. . . I am just annoyed and I hate looking at my photos it feels like a job.

I spent so much money, and I have nothing to show for it. I had actually met with 2 other B-pic photographers and they felt bad after seeing my photos and offered me great deals to take my photos. I don’t even think I want to re-take them. I feel like I should get my FH something that I know he wants instead of spending more money on something that may not come out good.

I have seen some GREAT photos from her - I don't want to scare you. It was my experience and I feel like it needed to but shared.

thank you for writing this! I was going to tell you to write the review for sure, and its your experience its not starting drama at all!!!

i'm so sorry you had a negative experience and i think you should email her back and explain that you really don't feel comfortable with the photos and you definitely do not want an album and would like some money back!

Re: My Review on Kamila / B-pics

marie, im glad you wrote something. i know we've been talkin bout this for a while. and i think you captured everything correctly and not negatively

idk, but when you are half dressed, some direction from a professional on how to look your best and creative ideas for poses is NEEDED! otherwise, i could rent a room and put my camera on autotimer. idk

the experience was fun. but the results where ehhhh.

it was also annoying that with the order of the group, some girls got beautiful shots with the city in the background and then others got like NO WINDOW shots because it was FREAKING DARK outside.

my advice is know what you want. and dont be afraid to ask and be a PITA. if you are shy and waiting for direction, you might be disappointed....

and, yes, looking thru photos (even tho i was so eager to get some back) was a CHORE!!!!

Thank you for sharing! This was a huge fear of mine- that it's just be someone snapping away pics and I don't know what to do! I've never taken pics like this before so I don't know what works and what doesn't!

Thank you so much for sharing!! I contacted her because I was interested in doing this, but I am very shy and I'm positive I'd have no idea what to do once I got there. I really appreciate reading your point of view on things.

first off I want to say you do not look like a man.

Secondly , as a part time model, sometimes we just don't click (no punn) with the photographer. I have had shoots with people who swear they loved the person and we just didn't gel.

Thridly, with any shoot, you should really just like 1 from each outfit. To even get 12 you liked is great!
I shot for 4 hours and basically got about 10 I liked and used.

But I get you paid and you want more.
I am sure your FH will love the 12 he gets!

I thought your pics came out amazing!! But I am so sorry about your experience - it sounds like she was phoning it in!

If she wants to stay in business, she will honor your request for a refund - the power of LIW!!

I'm so glad you posted this Marie. Because I've been having doubts about posting my honest experience. I really don't like my bpics. I don't find them flattering at all. There are a handful I like (I posted like 2 or 3 of them) but other than that, I'm really not a fan.

Re: My Review on Kamila / B-pics

im so glad you finally did a review about this. you should definitely be happy with what you pay for, and i think these reviews are extremely helpful especially on vendors a lot of us use. either way, since shes not giving you money, i would just take a bigger album of the 12 pics you do like, you took them and paid for them you may as well have something!

maybe save your second session for your one year anniversary

sorry again you had a bad experience hunnie

sorry you didnt have a great experience marie

i actually had a great experience with her and i love how my album came out. But I do think it is important for people to be able to express when they had a negative experience with a vendor bc it may help other brides. thanks for sharing!
