My Review !! with pics

Review of our November 12, 2004 wedding at Woodbury Country Club…

Invitations – Precious Collection – A+++++++++ - They were SOOO helpful. They sent me samples at no charge, answered all of my one million questions and got my invitations to me fast, reasonably priced, perfect, and they were beautiful. I have gotten so many compliments on our invitations. I ordered them online, which was awesome, and so convenient. I would use them again in a heartbeat. www.preciouscollection.com if you go onto the website, you can get a free catalog sent to you. As a side note, I ordered my invitations, place cards, and our thank you’s.

Flowergirl Basket – Exclusively Weddings – A – The flowergirl basket was so adorable, and it did come rather quickly, but I do have to say that it was a bit expensive. I paid $38 PLUS shipping and handling. They do have some really cute items at this website, so it’s worth it to check it out. www.exclusivelyweddings.com

Grooms Tux – Giorgio Armani – A++++++++++++++ - My FH and I go to a number of black tie events, so investing in a tuxedo made total sense. He owns one already, but he wanted a new one. He is a client at the Armani store in Manhattan, so one day last year we went in and had one made for him. It’s stunning. Very expensive, but it came in fast, was tailored and shipped to his office in about a month!

Father and Brother’s Tux (groomsmen all own their own) – SYMS – B+ - My dad and brother went to SYMS and bought their tuxes for I’m nearly sure, less than 200 bucks!!! The tuxes are so nice! They look very handsome, I must say. My mom said that certain sales people weren’t the friendliest, but all in all was a pretty good experience. Just as a side note, they do offer tailoring there, but they suggested that my dad and brother take them to another tailor for “tweaking”.

Bridesmaids Dresses – Adrienne’s – A++++ - I had a wonderful experience going there. I loved the girls in the maid’s cottage and they were so incredibly accommodating for me. The dresses came in just when they said that they would. I had one HUGE problem BM – who I swear is putting me over the edge, and was nasty to the girls there, and no matter what the girls there kept their cool and were lovely. If you go there, I recommend Jennifer, Nicole, and Danielle. ALL fabulous. I would also suggest to take a day off from work, like a Tuesday to go there…for looking for dresses… sometimes it gets busy, and you can play a lot more if you go on a day that is more quiet. I forgot to mention that my BM dresses were all Bill Levkoff gowns in Black Euro Satin – the girls chose whichever dress they wanted.

Flowergirl Dress – Adrienne’s – A+++++- I bought the FG her dress, because she is the daughter of my insane BM and I don’t trust her taste. Regardless, the dress is just adorable, and she is going to look so cute! Again, I had a super-great experience there, and her dress also came in just when they said that it would.

My Dress and Veil – Adrienne’s – A+++ - My dress came in a tiny bit later than promised, but everything was fine, and they checked on it for me a few times. My veil came in ahead of schedule and is so pretty. One of my favorite things about Adrienne’s was that brides have to call to make an appointment. I loved being the only bride in there. I felt so special. The owner MaryAnn helped me. I LOVE HER!!! She was AMAZING. I had a wonderful time with her, and every time that I went back to pick something up or pay them; she would always fuss over me. (Her daughter is getting married the weekend after me). My cousin also used Adrienne’s for all of her BP attire and was the one that told me to go there.

Grooms Gifts- Huntington Business Products Centre –A+++++++++- My FH bought the 4 groomsmen beautiful Aurora pens. The 2 best men got the same pen but the fountain pen version. The lady, Dee, is SOOO sweet. She wrapped all of the pens beautifully and even offered to wrap my BMs gifts, even though I didn’t get them from there! Bridesmaids Gifts – Main Street Optometry – This I can’t grade because I work there. I bought the girls designer sunglasses from the optical store that I work in. (This is another idea that I took from my cousin – she did this for the guys) If anyone is interested here is the number 631.757.6190 We’re located right on Main Street in Northport village.

St. Patrick’s Church in Huntington – F--------------- - I can’t begin to explain all the screwing up this place did. Just as some background information, my family and I have been going to that church for OVER 20 years. I have received every sacrament there, but when it came to getting a priest to come to Woodbury CC to marry us with a Rabbi, well, everything was fine until 3 weeks before my wedding. I had to get another priest last minute – a priest that is NOT EVEN part of St. Patrick’s. If you would like me to go further into this travesty, FM me.

Father Bob Allman – B- - This is a tough one to grade. I think that I am being nice, because he didn’t show up to the wedding. He sent a stand-in, who was nice, but after all the B-S that we went through with the church, etc., I really was surprised.

Rabbi Howard Cohen – A++++++++++++++++ - he was TERRIFIC. Such a pleasure to work with, really. He was funny, articulate, fast, and was able to make me laugh before I broke down. People LOVED him. A million compliments!!

Woodbury Country Club – A+++++++++++++ - Ladies, if you booked WCC, you have nothing to worry about. I want to first say that I was very reluctant to book there b/c I had one of my proms there. But when we went to go check it out, we fell in love not only with the rooms but the staff. They were phenomenal. From booking to the end. Every question was happy to be answered, and they were another pleasure to deal with. my HUSBAND (omg, how cool is that) and I tend not to expect 5 star cuisine from a catering hall, but I have to say that the food was really wonderful. We didn’t get to go to the CH, but everyone was raving about the food. The vodka/caviar bar was a huge hit, and the lobster tails, penne a la vodka, carved sirloin, and baby lamb chops were also complimented. The bridal attendant was great. She wasn’t too overbearing and was truly a wonderful help. Very attentive, but not annoying! Lee and I took VERY good care of her as well as our maitre’d and our banquet manager, which that was unnecessary, but he was wonderful. There were NEVER lines at the bar – the drinks were constantly refilled by the waiters/waitresses. Our maitre’d even gave us 2 bottles of champagne for us to take home. Very sweet. Again, the staff was fabulous, and we are going to write a letter to the managers saying what a lovely experience it was to get married there.

Band – The Mystic – A++++++++++ - Totally amazing. If you haven’t booked a band yet for your wedding, you must check them out. (8 pieces) If you booked The Mystic, I know you are going to love them just as much as we did. They were nice, professional, and learned songs for me. They have a HUGE songlist. There were so many people dancing all night, it was great. BTW, they are a vendor on this site!! www.themysticmusic.com

Photographer – Natasha Staszek – A+++++++++++ - I haven’t gotten my proofs back yet, but I know that they are going to look awesome. I cant wait to see them. She is really talented and worth the cost. If you saw my e-pics, or anyone else’s photos from her, you know her work is beautiful. www.tashphoto.com

Florist – LA Blossom –do I even need to grade her? You all know what it is going to be. A+++++++++++++++++ - Wait till you ladies see my flowers. In one word, breathtaking. I was so blown away. They were just simply beautiful. People were fighting over the CP’s. Not to mention that Laurie is a complete sweetheart to work with! Limo – I don’t know the name of the company, but they were terrific. They were on time and they were awesome getting us all into the cars, dry. You all know how bad the weather was on the 12th.

Travel Agent - Fort Hill Travel (Jeanne) – A++ - She has been my family travel agent for over 15 years. She has sent my mom and dad on some wonderful trips, and the vacations that we took as a family were always great! well, she totally nailed this one. We had a wonderful time on the cruise and she got us a great deal, too! Honeymoon – Princess Cruise to the southern Caribbean = A+++ SOOOOOO awesome. We had a total blast, the crew was so nice and attentive, the food was delicious, the liquor was too! We flew down to San Juan, had a shuttle to take us to the boat, then went right to our room! (so easy) We went to St. Lucia, Barbados, Antigua, St. Maartin, and St. Thomas. Lee and I are probably going to book one for next year! It was great! www.princesscruises.com

Hair – Robert Marrone – he is my hairdresser for about 8 years now. I love him. He came to the wedding and was the life of the party. He was taking pics of the tables, dancing with everyone. He did 6 girls’ hair in 3 and a half hours! He used to work at Town and Country Salon in Huntington, but Cactus bought them out, so he stayed there, here is the number. 631.427.4750

Make-Up – Patricia Burgess –A++++ she was fabulous. Everyone looked so pretty. She was fast and so sweet. FM me for more info. She came to my house and finished 6 in about 3 and a half hours also.

Wax – Jennifer – She was great. She came to my house (she is my sister’s friend) and was so nice. (even though I was screaming) For those of you that don’t know, I had a brazillian wax, and had my legs waxed. OMG. Whoa. BUT, totally worth it! I’m so glad that I didn’t have to shave on my HM.

Shoes/Handbag – Craft Shoes – A – I got adorable shoes here, and a great bag, both 30 bucks each. Great selection, but a bit of a mess. I don’t suggest going on a weekend, but ladies, if you haven’t bought your shoes or a bag yet, YOU MUST GO! They have LOTS of stuff.
