I called to speak to my BM who was busy so she had another BM call me back. I told her that i was thinking about doing upgrades to my menu but couldnt decide between the 2 items. I asked her if they could give me one complimentary and she said she could not. She gave me some BS reason. She said the items that i wanted have to be brought in and its not something they stock there. I know for a fact that they have given these items complimentary to brides before and without them even asking for it.
I guess they will give you anything before you book to get your business but once you have booked them and they have your money they could care less.

Call back and Demand to speak to YOUR BM or a general manager.. tell them if they arent willing to work with you on this you might just take your whole wedding elsewhere!!!!!!!! How RUDE of them to do to you!!!

I was asking for passed shrimp cocktail which is $5 pp and bottle service on each table which is $3pp. I dont think i was asking for anything over the top. I could see if i was asking for the lobster which is like $25pp but after all of the money i am spending at this place i dont think an upgrade is that big of a deal. Esp since they didnt throw in a lot of extras for us to begin with

IDK Charonda, maybe if you speak to your BM, explain how put off you were and then offer to pay the $5pp for shrimp if they throw in $3 bottle service, you'll be happy again.

I totally agree with you on this one! I used to work for them and I can tell you that the bottles water that your asking for (if thats what you meant when you said bottles on the table) cost them practically nothing, especially not $3pp). It pisses me off when catering halls charge more for shrimp cocktail and tell me if this makes sense or not. They use the same shrimp for shrimp cocktail as they do for all of the other shrimp dishes they are providing you throughout the cocktail hour and reception, so why should they charge you more just have them served a different way. I would think shrimp cocktail is cheaper to cook than having it in another dish. I would fight it but let us know what happens!!! HTH and i hope i made sense!

I'm going there in Oct for a food tasting so I will talk to my BM then.
First i just found it strange that i called her and she had someone else return my call. She has done that like 2 or 3 times but when i was calling asking questions BEFORE booking with them she was always available. Dont get me wrong she is the nicest person but i just dont understand what is going on with her latley.

after i signed my contract at my reception hall, i thought of other things i should have negotiated. i had an appointment with my banquet manager last night. she told me that my requests were a bit premature and to wait until i have a better estimate of how many people will actually be attending. she said once i know that, she will do her best to accommodate my requests for a reasonable price. maybe your reception hall will do the same. i think you should def talk to YOUR banquet manager in person though - you might get better results. i hope everything works out for you

When we booked our RH, they were giving a complimentary hotel room to the bride and groom with 100 guests. We were informed that they are no longer offering this to new weddings. Things change especially with the economy so I'm sure places are trying to cut corners where they can and not comp too many things.
