Re: My Rudy has his 'Manhood Removal' surgery tomorrow...

We just got back...He's doing much better than I thought!
He seems pretty tired, but other than that, he's great.
The Dr. said he was the perfect patient.
I'm so relieved.

Re: My Rudy has his 'Manhood Removal' surgery tomorrow...

I'm sure you are so happy it's over with.
It seems a few of us have little boys. Would you please tell us what's involved?

How long was he under anesthesia?
How long did he stay at the hospital?
Any resistrictions you have to follow?
Does he have internal or external stitches?

And the dreaded question - about how much does it cost???

I did read an infant or preemie size onesie works wonders to keep them from licking the wound if that's a problem.

Thanks so much and good luck with Rudy. I really hope he's coming along well.

How long was he under anesthesia?
~Not sure, I brought him in around 8, called around 1, he was just finishing up. I think it's a pretty quick procedure.
How long did he stay at the hospital?
~From 8-3:30
Any resistrictions you have to follow?
~He just wasn't supposed to eat a lot of food/water that day. No grooming for min. 2 weeks.
Does he have internal or external stitches?
~External dissolving stitches.

And the dreaded question - about how much does it cost???
~Not exactly sure b/c he got shots too, I think around $185.

Re: My Rudy has his 'Manhood Removal' surgery tomorrow...

The hours, and the price, were not bad at all. I wonder now why my vet said Scooby will stay in over night. I would rather have him home.

Thanks.
