My sample centerpiece from FLOWER MICHELE

My sample centerpiece from FLOWER MICHELE

So yesterday i finally got to see our sample centerpiece from Flower Michele. I don't know if it's because i had really (REALLY!) high expectations but i was a lil disappointed at the outcome. I didn't really say it when i was there but i feel like we're paying alot of money for them and not getting it's worth. As you can see the centerpiece is made up of roses, hydrangeas, and curly willow. All of which are 'cheap' (as in price, not quality) flowers. I don't know. What do you guys think? John will be adding more curly willow on the centerpiece itself and inside the vase. There will also be rose petals around the bottom with the candles. I thought it was going to be a more 'ivory' colored centerpiece with 'touches of' black magic roses but it seems like it's the other way around. He did tell me that i can change some of the red roses to vendela (ivory) roses but i'll be leaving it as is because FH likes it the way it is now. Sigh...I don't know...I'm really confused. Give me your honest opinions please!
BTW...my color scheme for the wedding is RED and IVORY!

Re: My sample centerpiece from FLOWER MICHELE

I have to say I love the colors of the flowers...I think that if you originally intended on more of an ivory with spashes of red, I would request that all the areas that show the green leaves of the roses be filled in with an Ivory flower, like a sahara rose or a similare ivory flowr...I think that the green takes away more than it adds to the center piece. I also think that perhaps distribuing a few more curly willows a bit more spaced apart will help to widen the appearance of the 'ball' portion of the center piece. All in all the flowers are beautiful, but You are paying good money for exactly what you want, and If i were not happy with what I saw, I would make as many changes as needed until I was content. I am confident that John will work with you until you are thrilled with what you see

i think they look nice - but you have a specific look that you are going for- you should def speak to John about it. Get your money's worth and if that means making some changes do it! You dont want any regrets on your big day!

I think it looks great, but talk 2 John if you really are not 100% with it. Its your wedding and you should be happy with you flowers.

I think it looks awesome!!! but I think it will be even better w/ some tweaking, don't feel bad about telling them what you want, you're paying them!! More curly willow and a little less of the green showing will look great!!! I'm booked w/ FM too, and I'm going for a similar look as yours (hydrangea's & roses).

Girl, speak up!! You are paying a lot of money for your flowers, and John will never know if you don't tell him. Like Mimi said, I would ask him to fill in the green areas where the leaves are with more hydrangeas or another ivory flower.

Personally, I love the CP as it is, but my opinion does not matter- it is your wedding!! So, open your mouth and let John know!!! It's your wedding and your money!!

TALK TO JOHN ! ! ! ! He'll fix it, trust me. When I was unhappy with my centerpiece he did another one for me, and was totally prepared when I got there the 2nd time with other flowers to stick in and take out until it was what I wanted.

Tell him how you feel. How the red was overwhelming and you were hoping for more ivory. Speak up, he'll listen.

Good Luck ! !

Re: My sample centerpiece from FLOWER MICHELE

I like the red and white...perhaps if, as suggested by others, the green was replaced with more white you might like it better...also, perhaps if it were a bit looser in design...not such a 'tight' ball arrangement? It would be worth a try to loosen it up, add the white and more vines.

Please do not be hesitant about speaking up! It's your wwedding, your money and YOUR OPINION that counts! all the vendors, I believe, are very willing to do wht we brides want...but they cna't read our minds...we have to tell them...and be very clear about what we are thinking...

I don't know who told you that hydrangeas were 'cheap' per se but they are not, even the silk ones can cost . . . but I happen to like your CP.

I love the red roses and hydrangeas!! why don't you ask john if he can make you another CP with some of the ivory roses so you can see how it would look!! then you could make a decision. I think adding some ivory roses would soften it up a bit and really give you the look you want!!

I like it on a whole, but I think it could use a bit more of either flower there are a few spots that area little bare. You can see it in the 1st pic towards the bottom right.

Otherwise I love it!!

Re: My sample centerpiece from FLOWER MICHELE

You should definitely say something! I didn't like my first sample from them either and John did a second sample for me. Until I saw it I was nervous about the flowers and thats a really awful feeling....They will do another one and you will feel a lot better!

I got married at the same place as you and I also used Flower Michele. You can check out my review to see how it wnt overall.

I think it looks great but as other brides said i would add more ivory roses where theres greenery. I dont think John would have any problems making those changes for you so I really wouldnt stress over it.
As for hydrangea though - i def would not categorize it as a cheap flower. They are large so you dont need many of them to fill in a lot of space, but wedding quality dutch hydrangea is around $5 a stem wholesale. compare that to your roses which are at most 80 cents a stem and you can see that its far from a cheap flower.
