My shower is this saturday and I feel like a

DORK!!!!!! First of all Im not suppose to know about it but everyone fights and talks to much so I figured it out. And I feel like a DORK I don't like to be the center of attention. I don't want to open all my gifts and have people staring at me. And even worst I don't want to flash nighties around.,.. UGHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate being the center of attention too but somehow the shower wasn't really bad at all. Try not to think about it and just ENJOY!

I don't want to open my gifts at the shower...I want to my mom to do it at night so we can just have dinner and hang out...I would prefer to open them at home with FH and our mothers if they want to be there...

I know how you feel, I felt the SAME way. But its going to be soo much fun! and its good preparation for being the center of attention at you wedding

I knew about my shower, I didn't want to be surprised. You'll have a great time, don't worry about it. If you don't want to flash nighties, don't do it. As for the gifts, I think people will be insulted if you don't open them at the shower, people like to see how you react and like their gifts. JMO

holy cow...I was the SAME WAY...it was supposed to be a surprise, I found out about it, and I HATE being the center of attention....it wasn't too bad.

I have heard this from a lot of people. I think you should just enjoy it and feel loved. People care enough (whether they have been arguing about it or not) and it is a rite of passage.

Remember: Others have done this before you and many more will do this after you. It's part of getting married and in the end you get a lot of nice things to set up your new home

I know how you are probably feeling!! I am pretty shy myself and I have given this a lot of thought. Just remember to enjoy yourself (something not hard to do at your own shower). Also, maybe try to have a few drinks ( I know I will). Lastly, remember to take pics!!

I thought the same thing. I knew it would be great but I would be really embarassed. I was definitely red in the face, but was able to relax more when I had a drink.

I felt like that before the shower. I didn't want to be the center of attraction and all BUT once you are there it is soooo much fun. My FMIL was one of those who had bought me some sexy underwear (which I thought was hillarious). It goes by soo quick that once it is over you feel like- that's it?

I wouldn't worry about anything. Just have fun and enjoy!

I hear ya! Mine was this past saturday and i made my moh read the cards and i only had a few nighties, so it wasn't so bad. Have fun, u only have a shower once
