My Shower was on Sunday!

My shower was held on Sunday at the White Whale Restaurant in Seaford. It was beautiful and the room was set up very nicely, next to a marina with a beautiful view (that I only saw in pictures since I was so busy!). The day went by so fast - I can't even begin to imagine how fast my wedding day will fly by!

You know, I really wasn't. My mom had planned a 'fake party' - I got an invite in the mail, my sister had one on her fridge and so did my mom - and at first I believed it. But then all these things started coming together ... and then when I got to the party, I saw my friend Anne's red Volvo station wagon in the parking lot. Pretty big giveaway. But it didn't matter, I had a great time anyhow!

Awww....Jen! You looked great! Love the dress! I'm surprised that you didn't know...you look surprised. What flavor was the cake? It's looks DELISH! What kind of wishing well gifts did you get? The place is beautiful!

Wishing well - I got some things from Sur La Table, which I had never heard of but my sister, who's a chef, had and said, 'It's like williams sonoma but better!' They were from my FMIL. Awesome LONG tongs and a BIG 4-cup pyrex measuring cup. I also got nice martha stewart utensils - a pizza cutter, cheese plane, etc - which I know are more than I spend on wishing well gifts, if I remember to get one! I also got a microplane, which is a small grater used to grate cinammon or chocolate, etc - my sister fell in love with that, too.

We got some KY massage oil - I opened it and was like 'WHAT????' But then I noticed it was massage oil. Still, I wouldn't have bought anything with the initials KY on it for a shower.

The cake was yellow cake with two different fillings - one layer was strawberry and one was chocolate mousse. I had the mousse and it was sooooo good. Everyone said the strawberry was great too. The cake itself (the yellow cake) was delicious.

Glad to hear I looked suprised from a few people - because as I was walking into the place, I'm thinking, how in the hell am I going to look surprised???? My body language is as honest as can be, I've been told this is NOT a good thing most of the time.

Well it looks like you had a blast! The cake sounds amazing! I'm glad you had a good time. Did you get pretty much everything off your registry?

I got the big stuff, yes, except my pots and pans. But I have a ton of gift cards to use for that! We aren't 100% sure what we want yet, so we will go together and get them.
