My sister changed her passwords!!!!!!!!!!

Yes i tried to snoop a little!!! so she has changed all her comp passwords so i cant sneak on and look at the bridal shower information! damn.... i guess i just hate surprises!!!!

also, how do i deal with the fact that mom wont put where we are registered in the invites?! she told MOH that its tacky, and if people want to know where we r registered they can check our website that is written on the save the dates.....what do i do if we get gifts we arent registered for at places we arent registered at?! i have never been invited to a bridal shower whre where they are registered wasnt in the invite. Am i being crazy? will everyone just knw to check the website and ask? ugh....

Ugh, that s/ucks...I'm happy that my mom has about as much tact as I do lol. Why don't you try having the invites be delegated to another member of the bridal party that will be willing to stuff the inserts in? Is it just your mother that's opposed, or others as well? Would your mother relinquish that duty of the invites do you think?

When all else fails... word of mouth! Have your bm's and friends spread the word that you are registered at xyz store... that's the only thing I can think of. Sorry!

Depending on where you're registered, they have 'registry announcements'...I believe it's an automated email. That way it might not seem AS tacky, because it's impersonal. If you were to send out an individual email like hey, guess what I did the other day? I registered for china at BBB! then yeah haha. But if you can play it off like it's an auto-email, might not be as bad.

to be honest most people might just come out and ask because they might wonder why it wasnt on the invite..so by word of mouth it will get around like a hooker on a sat night

Wow, even my mom the etiquette police is allowing gift registries in the bridal shower invite.

Why don't you have them put the wedding website on the shower invite in addition to the Save the Dates. At least that will direct them to a place to find the registry, for your computer savvy guests anyhow. The rest will probably ask.

We're actually putting our website on our STD, Shower Invite and Wedding Invitation.

I thought the whole point of a shower was for people to get you stuff off of the registry???? That's why they make those little cards so you can put in the envelopes.... ???

JMO, but many people will never check your website. I've given about 100 people my wedding website and maaayyybeee 40 have gone on...

I would worry that most people won't see any registry info in the invite and just go out on their own and get something from any store....

thats a good idea. i dont know if they will do it, since mom already told MOH that its on the STD's and everyone has them......... im so nervous that im going to start opening gifts at the bridal shower and be embarrassed that i open things i hate and have to pretend i love them. I do feel selfish, but i just feel stuck as well.

Re: My sister changed her passwords!!!!!!!!!!

explain to your mom the whole reason of registering is to give your guests the courtesy of picking out a gift that you want and will actually use it also makes it alot easier for them to shop instead of trying to guess what the heck to get you they get to just pick something and be done. As far as her thinking inserts are tacky they are not tacky at all UM HELLO thats why they make them and I guess there are millions and millions of tacky people in the world. Personally if I did not get an insert I would think you didnt register or I would call someone and ask so tell mom to be prepared for ALOT of calls. Good Luck

hahah yea thats what i did. I told my sis that people are going to be asking! i guess im just gonna have to try to word of mouth it myself. Tell FMIL to tell her side, and just do my best to make sure my side all knows. ugh

Re: My sister changed her passwords!!!!!!!!!!

my registry info was not on my invites - it was all by word of mouth. i only received a few things not on my registry which was actually kinda fun. for example, i got some christmas mugs, plates and things that i would never buy myself but are nice to have at christmas time. don't worry - word of mouth will work out!
