my sisters wedding was this past weekend
i've been basically MIA for the past few weeks because of my sisters wedding.. but as some of you may know my sisters wedding was this weekend in the poconos. let me just say this: i never knew how big of a sap i was!
it has made me and FH so much more excited for our wedding, plus helped us write out a list of things we definitely want and don't want.
it was funny because the second my sister was in her dress and the photographer handed her her bouquet and was about to snap that first picture i busted out crying. she looked so beautiful and happy and i was truly so happy for her at that moment. i had to leave the room though cause from me crying she was about to start and then i'm like oh nooo they JUST finished my makeup.
it really is a good thing they use waterproof EVERYTHING for weddings.
you should definitely make sure of that.
the weather held out beautifully it snowed a little during the ceremony which looked great because there was this huge window right behind them.
things that we really loved and got great feedback on were: the menus at each setting, the very simple OOT baskets (cost less then $5 a basket with what she did), they played the 'how well do you know your spouse game' as the party was getting a little blah and that picked everything back up again.
things to definitely watch out for:
--reserve seating (like put actual names on seats) of important people that you want to be close. my FH was stuck basically in the back row because an aunt of mine kicked him out and he didn't want to start a fight so he didn't get to see anything!
--make sure the aisle is wide enough for everyone to walk down! their aisle was too narrow for my sister and both parents to walk down. lead to some cute moments and laughter but would have been nice if they could all go together
-- try not to have too many people wandering around filming and snapping photos during ceremony - VERY distracting
-- don't let your relatives get the best of you. My sister and her brandnew husband finally got a chance to sit down and eat dinner together.. their first moment alone the whole night.. and his mother came over and made him dance with her! it was very inappropriate leaving the bride all alone.
-- dont worry if you dont get a chance to greet everyone.. just have a great time and keep on dancing.
i can't believe i somehow managed to give a toast in front of that many people, not to mention ball my eyes out again while giving the speech but still.. make sure you have something prepared, dont just go up and wing it because people can tell the difference. the best mans speech was just awful.
but anyway i hope this helps out some people and i can't wait to get some of the photos on here so i can show you guys everything!
