I don't know what's going on or what to use. I have al these little acne bup on my lower cheek area and just ickiness over all. i don't have insurance righ now for the dermatologist. any suggestions? What skin care products do you use?

I have been using Proactive and it works for me. Some peopel break out with it but I break out with anything dermatologist assigns me, so this works pretty well for me. Just have to sue it every day as prescribed.

omg- i used proactive months ago and made me break out like i was diseased. i had little needle point bumps over ever inch of my face. i was mortified. :(

I've tried everything and I finally went to the dermo and he gave me Benzaclin. It works wonders. It has benzoyl peroxide so maybe try to find an over the counter topical cream with that ingredient.

I use AcneFree, which is 1/2 the price of proactive and available in drug stores. It works great for me, but the ingredients are comparable to those in proactive, so you might want to avoid it. Maybe you are allergic to benzoyl peroxide? That is the main ingredient in proactive i think.

Try looking for products with sulfur--there's a few on the market. It's one of the things a dermatologist will give you if you have sensitive skin, but you can buy it over the counter. Murad has some, and there are a few others. Sulfur kills bacteria without irritating the hell out of your skin like benzoyl peroxide.

Yes - I completely agree. I had little bumps on my face so I used benoyl peroxide and it made it so much worse. Sulfur cleared it all up and it's been clear for about 2 years now...of course I use this face wash I got from the Dr and you said you don't have insurance. I would imagine they sell something with sulfur in it at the store though.

Use LISTERINE. I use to have bad acne, I just wash my face with Cetaphil and put on listerine at night and my skin has become so clear, it really works. I cant believe has become so clear. I have used all acne meds and none of them worked, they have dried my face and made it worse

OK so this is going to sound like an infomercial but I've had adult acne problems since I was 18. I must have spent almost $5000 at the dermatologist. The only think that has worked for me has been Proactive. Dont over scrube and use it daily and your skin will be gorgeous. I actually get complimets on my skin when we're out and I always laugh.

I found an amazing facialist if you're interested I've tried everything, nothing has ever worked before. I wish I met her 8 months before the wedding instead of 3!

My skin is really sensitive so the best products for me have sulfur in it to kill the bacteria that cause acne. I like Murad's spot treatment, and I use a sulfur soap once or twice a day. It really helps. I can only use the soap in warm weather, though, it's too drying in the winter. I get it at Bigelow Chemists in Manhattan, but I'm sure other places have it.

I was breaking out a lot not too long ago and then I started using Mama's lotion. I can tell you, it's working for me. I don't remember the last time i had a bump. ( not even for my period)
P.S it's a bit pricey though, but worth it.

Proactive was awful for me, so I wouldn't recommend that.
I use Loreal Adult Acne Skin Clearing Regimine (don't remember the exact name, but it's something like that) and I *love* it. For the first week or so I broke out a bit, but then it cleared me up almost completely. I don't find it harsh on my skin (I have very sensitive combination skin), and I really think it's great.

When my skin breaks out i use Babor Pure Blemish Mask twice a week and leave it for 15min. It for oily skin and acne prone skin. Here is the picture of the bottle, it runs for about $26-$30. I also wash my face with nuetrogena acne cleanser/mask everyday which is good for controling daily blemishes however when i severely break out i need to get the babor out =).
