My son won't let me leave the room!

The minute I put him down or give him to someone else and walk out of the room he screams. right now he is in his crib SCREAMING. i want him to nap (he is terrible napper) if i go in there and look at him he stops screaming and smiles at me! what do i do??? let him cry?

okay 5 minutes later and he is out like a light. I guess the CIO method works. jsut breaks my heart.

I know the feeling my daughter does the same thing if I leave the room and she can't see me or FH she starts to cry the minute we are in view she stops. When I put her to bed I found that she will stay quiet and lay still if I have music on so I play a lullaby cd and she passes out to that

You could do the supernanny method. She puts the kid in the crib and sits down next to the crib on the floor making no eye contact. Gradually, she moves further and further from the crib until she's out of the room.

I think that's for kids who can climb out of the crib too. Hey, you never know...it may work!
