i dont want it to be a surprise, i feel uncomfortable knowing that everytime i go to my sisters in late June/early July, it may be my shower...i actually kinda figured out it was in July, due to my mom slipping...my MOH wants to tell me and I think I want to know...
does anyone else really really not want a surprise??

Im actually kinda feeling like the opposite... All this week, Ive been like dreading Saturday... I hate being in the spotlight and knowing its 2 days away gives me more anxiety than probably having it sprung on me

I knew about my work shower, but just walking in the door and having all those people yell surprise at me was enough to make me tear up and act surprised. :)

I'm the same way! A bit of a control freak I admit... I just like to be organized and it's not really a surprise if you know it's coming. It's like it's there and it's for you and you're not allowed to discuss it... I had a hard time getting over it and asked to at least pick the date so I can doll up and look forward to it and not look like a slob on the day of. Me knowing actually turned out to be a bad thing cuz I got a little too involved and it got out of hand and I had to take a step back and wash my hands off it. So now I still know the date but not anything else, not even who's coming

Re: my 'surprise' shower is giving me anxiety
I love surprises but I wanted to know the date so I could be ready for it. I got the date and I told them everything else regarding the shower will remain a secret. Besides, most brides end up finding out because people ''slip up'

Re: my 'surprise' shower is giving me anxiety
I didn't want a surprise either. Some of my reasoning was due to anxiety but another reason was my MOH was flying in from Vegas (where she lives) and I'd have been so upset if she were in town for a few days before and I didn't see her.

Re: my 'surprise' shower is giving me anxiety
I would have liked it to be a surprise, and I thought I would have liked it better that way, but certain things have been going down with my shower with guest list issues and just general stupidity, that I'm SO relieved I know and have some kind of control.
