MY SWANSONG QOTD.
I can barely type through the tears. So many questions! So little time!
I'm barely functioning today, as a result of my diet. I have been relying on eggs now, I've kicked sausage, and frankly, I think I have some sort of egg-borne disease, since I'm not even hungry. And unless all of the planets are in line, or there's some other strange phenomena occurring in the cosmos, there is really no explanation for that, except of course, Bird Flu.
Have I mentioned I tend toward hypochondria? I'm not hungry. It must be a severe wasting disease. And why aren't I losing weight anymore? I have a wasting disease where I'm not hungry and I don't lose weight? I'm dying. Or pregnant.
Okay, I have to ask these questions, before my eyes start bleeding from the Ebola I'm sure I have...
As usual, answer one, or answer all! There's a lot still on my mind, and unless I stage a bloody coup to stay in power, this is my last chance!!
1. What's your favorite day of the year?? The Saturday of the Big East Basketball tournament. I get together with a bunch of my college friends at the same bar in the city EVERY year, and EVERY year it is a debacle of monstrous proportions. I'm not young, yet every year I bring out the ice cube trays, so we can revisit our youth, and try to shoot quarters into the trays. Miss and you drink!!
Man, when I type it and read it back, it sounds really pathetic.
So, I'm changing my answer to Christmas Eve. That's when my whole family gets together at my parent's house. I LOVE it, and it's just the best feeling. And I make my world famous appetizers, pinwheels, which are the pillsbury Crescent Rolls, but inside I put a mixture of cream cheese, onions, and bacon. Choke on THAT, other 364 days of the year!!
On a sad note, a few years ago, I decided that the pinwheel could make an appearance on a 'regular day', and starting making them with a frenzy I cannot even explain to this day. Much of the current body mass I am attempting to lose now is due to this dark pinwheel period. I have since decided that, for my own personal safety, they are for one day only.
2. What was your fave toy as a child? My parents only gave me matches and plastic bags to play with, so I don't know.
Only kidding. SuperStar Barbie Fashion Face!!! It was just the barbie head, but big, and you could style the hair, and put makeup on her!! I LOVED this toy! Until, of course, I decided to follow my dreams of becoming a hairstylist, and I tried to 'feather' (am I dating myself?) her hair. I was unsuccessful, and after trying to 'even it out' about six times, she was left with almost no hair. Henceforth, she was known as Bulldyke Barbie, and Ken never called again. However, her and Skipper did start something up, and I hear they're still living together in Tahoe with two dogs and an iguana.
I also LOVED my Barbie Dream House. Anything Barbie, I was totally into it.
And my lite-brite! And Play-doh. Not so much because it was fun to play with, but because I would eat it. My parents should have known there would be a weight problem later on down the road.
3. How do you vent anger? I take it out on the person closest to me. This is my all-time WORST quality. Either that, or I graze. I have actually accidentally eaten housepets if the anger gets bad enough. My poor gerbil Anton Van Leeuwenhoek is forever lost to us due to a situation involving a non-functioning air-conditioner that I had called the landlord 9 times to fix. RIP, Anton.
4. What's your favorite season? Winter. I hate heat like nothing else. And you can warm up by putting extra clothes on. Try taking off all your clothes when it's hot, and the cops really don't try to understand. Trust me. I speak from experience. I also like the fall, because I know winter is coming.
Actually, I probably like Spring the best, because I love flowers, and it can be cold, but it's also depressing, because I know summer's coming, so it can't be my favorite. Because I have no capacity to live in the present. I only know dread for what's coming.
5. What songs are you using for your wedding? Processional / Recessional (is that what's it's called? When the ceremony is done and you walk down the aisle but the other way?), first dance, father/daughter dance?
I cannot decide. For some reason, I'm all caught up on walking down the aisle to BronYrRaur by Led Zeppelin. It's pretty, and I love it. However, I love the Canon in D, and the traditionalist in me wants that too! As for walking back, I'm thinking the Wind by Cat Stevens. I'm also thinking the final movement of Beethoven's 9th.
wait- suddenly this seems familiar. did someone already ask this? I'm continuing anyway.
First dance- The Luckiest by Ben Folds or Maybe I'm Amazed by Paul McCartney. Father Daughter? I have no idea. It doesn't really matter, as I'll be a weepy puddle of emotion anyway.
Since I think I already asked that one, I'll throw in another shortie.
6. Closets- neat, or disaster?
Nuclear disaster. Especially our 'camping' closet, with all of our camping stuff in it. It's a huge pile of mess, with pressurized bottles of Kerosene in their somewhere. I like to live dangerously.
Let me know yours!!
