My Theme and DIY place cards
So if you haven't already noticed, I am (and now FH) are big Disney fans, we got engaged at Cinderella's wishing well in Magic Kingdom, hence my screenname.
FH told me that on our first trip to DIsney World together when we watched 'Wishes', the Magic Kingdom fireworks nightly show, is when he knew he wanted to marry me. :)
So with that as my inspiration, I wanted to tie in Disney as subtly as I could, but still maintaining a chic and elegant style at our wedding. I came up with the idea to theme our wedding 'Wishes' which combines the two storys mentioned above.
First I picked my colors, though I'm still someone what undecided on the base color. I'm going for a dark purply blue (anywhere from navy to indigo, maybe even plum) with accents of fuschia and pistachio...the idea is to mimic bright fireworks in the night sky.
From there I knew I would definitely want uplighting and for it to be changing color to mimic the glow from the sky during a fireworks show.
For our favor, I think we might do a box of sparklers along with a personalized match box together in a sheer favor bag. The match box is al significant because we met on match.com. :)
The newest idea to tie into our theme is my favorite, though its more disney-related than firework-related. lol I wanted to do something different for table names instead of numbers, so we decided on using different Disney rides as the table names and even putting pictures from our trips in the table name frames.
Then it randomly hit me one day what to make the place cards...Disney Fastpasses!! I'm going to try and attach the prototype I created but if it doesn't work, its in my 'ideas and inspiration' album.
I know this might seem like a bit much to some people, but I think it just fits us. As my FH said, 'we have to have some disney in our wedding!'
Sorry so long...thanks for listening to my ideas! Tell me what you think!
