My throat is killing me!!!!

Is there anything I can take to help sooth it. I'm going to go to the doctor tomorrow for a throat culture just in case, considering I just had strep two months ago.

I believe that you are allowed to take robitussin but check with your doctor first.

I went through the same thing 2 weeks ago, and I believe you responded to help me, so let me try to do the same. I bought the chloroseptic throat spray and cough drops, they helped. But I eventually had to go to the ER because I could not swallow at all, it was almost as bad as labor every time I swallowed, I'm not even kidding. They put me on amoxicillin and I was better the next day. You're a teacher, right? They may put you on an antibiotic even if you don't have strep since you are exposed to so much on a daily basis. I also got ice pops and jello, although it was even hard to swallow those things, good luck, I hope you feel better soon!! Also take tylenol you want ot make sure you don't start running a high fever

DEFINiTELY check with your doctor, there are many different robitussins on the market. Some are very dangerous while pregnant

I get strep without fail 2 times per year. Best relief is hot tea with honey and/or lemon, gurgling with salt water, ice pops and gingerale. Chloraseptic works a little too.

I wouldn't take Robitussen that is for coughs....I had a sore throat the other day and I was just sucking on Ludens cherry throat drops. Its still pretty scratchy...right now that is the least of my problems, I think m/s is starting....I have not felt well the last 2 days...

If you use the honey make sure it's processed or pasturized or whatever it is they do to honey. Pure honey is a no no. Chloroseptic is OK.

I just noticed that I have white spots all over my right tonsil which is extremely swollen. I guess that means I have an infection.

OMG! I had the same thing. I was dying all last week. I could not swallow and was in so much pain in my throat I would cry. I think it is going around. I went on amoxicillin but was out of work for one week straight. I was conveinced I was dying. I almost went to the hospital too! I couldn't talk!
