Make sure to score the bottom of your wedding shoes with a fork or knife..... Since they are new, and you will be on a wodden dance floor, this will prevent you from slipping and sliding.

Re: My Tip of the Day
umm silly question but i've never done that before: how much do you have to score it? will you actually see marks on the bottom from the fork?

Re: My Tip of the Day
I've done that with new shoes before, but it's harder than you might think with some shoes. Foot Petals have pads you can buy and stick on the bottoms of your shoes for the same sort of effect. Anyone try those? They're called 'Sole Stoppers.' Or is it just another way to get you to spend money? I think they come in the bridal kit from Foot Petals, which I think I might get.

Yes, I buy the sole stickers for the bottom of all new shoes I buy. It prevents it from slipping and the shoes last longer than if you fork it.
I don't know about the one posted here but the ones I buy are called shur grips and I get them from the local cobbler store. They are about $5 for 2 pairs.

Re: My Tip of the Day
Thank you so much for the tip, I really appreciate it. I am a natural born clutz and I wouldn't want to fall flat on my face at my own wedding.

Re: My Tip of the Day
Also, I heard that you should wear them around the house for about a month before the wedding to break them in!!
