my turn for tacky or not tacky

Original post by Future Mrs H

I am not having a VH but I am thinking of putting trays of cookies, brownies, and maybe mini muffins on each table. My SIL/MOH is an amazing baker and is willing to make these for me. (according to my brother she will anyway)

What do you all think? I am not doing a formal wedding as it is. Will it make it too non-weddingish? (is there such a word?)

I think it's a great idea, but just check with your RH before she bakes everything! Some places will only permit outside food to be served if it comes from a business due to insurance reasons.

not tacky BUT....IMPORTANT!!!!!!!.....

Check with your hall first! Most hall (I know mine is this way and so was Milleridge for my shower).. they do not allow you to bring in homemade baked goods, they can only be from a bakery. It's for legal/liability reasons.

My mom and sis baked tons of stuff for my shower and had to individually wrap them up for everyone to take as another favor instead cause they would not allow them to be served.

oh wow!!! I didnt realize this!! Ok I will call- thank you so much!

I've been to a wedding where the MOB had a tray of cookies on each table that she made from scratch. Anyone who knew them knew that it was her special cookies and it was such a sweet and personal touch. Who wouldn't want something made in small batches from scratch amongst all of that mass produced catering stuff? It was a huge hit. Good for you!
