So like most brides before me who have ranted about RSVPs..this is my rant. I just do not understand when you have a stamped, self addressed return envelope and all you need to do is check off 1 little tiny spot, why can't you mail the thing back. I have people emailing FMIL telling us they are coming, but not mailing it back. They were due back last Friday. If you can send an email you can mail it back. we did have one case where FH's friend's kid ate the invitation so they emailed their RSVPs with apologies and one case where someone threw theirs out by accident and i sent them a new one so they could RSVP. What irks me even more is that some of the outstnading RSVPs are easy No's why not just mail the thing back right away when you know you aren't coming and then there are people who recently got married and have gone through this and have not sent in their RSVP. I have never and will never delay on sending and RSVP so i just dont get it when most of the work is done for you why people just can't do it.
Errr.
Thanks for reading.

Re: My turn- RSVP vent
We all went through the same thing, so here are some .
Now for the funny RSVP story that I have yet to tell. The Friday before my Sunday wedding I got an email asking if there was room for ONE more person. I replied yes, and told said person that the RSVP card that came with the invite was specifically for that purpose. He replied 'dont worry you'll get it' and I did. He wrote congrats on it added some cash and stuck it in my photo cube!!

Re: My turn- RSVP vent
I really hate that people do this. I just received an invite yesterday and I brought it to work with me so that when I speak to FH today I can ask if we will be going ( it's a friend of his) either way it will be mailed today!

I can relate. This was the most frustrating part of the process for me. There are still people we never heard from. I really don't know what is wrong with people!

Re: My turn- RSVP vent
OH NO!!!! I really do not understand it personally. Every time I was invited to a wedding I put it in the mail right away.
I hope people wake up and respond!

Re: My turn- RSVP vent
Either ppl are lazy or they just don't like the idea of having to mail something. I mean it's not like they have to go and place that stamp on and write it out themselves.mad: Everything is self explanatory. Gosh, ppl sometimes. Things like this makes me just want to send ppl an Evite of my RSVP instead. So I don't have to spend that money on stamps and RSVP cards when it's not coming back too...I feel you girl.:
P.S. The thing about the kid eating it..now that is to funny.. sorry

Re: My turn- RSVP vent
I am freaking out about mine. The last two months are the most stressfull and I have people that have either gone through this before who have yet to reply. There are people I had to invite that I know cant come and have told other people they cant but yet, I still have not recieved their RSVP. So my question is when can I start calling these people or have our parents call if my rsvp date is Jan. 5th? The worst part is his family has 6 couples left and I still have 17. I am so embarrassed everytime his mother asks me how many I have left and then who on her side hasnt.

Re: My turn- RSVP vent
i am soooo right there with ya Tiggeruth. invites have been out for about 3 wks, almost 4...and out of 70 RSVPs we've only gotten 20 back total. and most of those were either
a)fellow recent past or future brides who understand
b)BP members that we know will be there
c)OOT guests who have booked airline tickets and such, so again, i already know they are coming.
i will never understand now respondingo on time, or within a week or two of getting the RSVP. ppl suuck

Re: My turn- RSVP vent
my latest complaint are those people who didnt RSVP with a date and now want one or people who wrote the incorrect number of people on their invite and are now (less than 2 weeks before the wedding) asking to add one more person.
My theory is that my tables are set, they are perfect in my mind, so for me to say yes to an addition they need to be already sitting at a table that can accomodate the extra person because i am not moving people.
So just wait, once you get past the people not mailing them in frustration then comes the last minute add on frustrations.
