my turn to vent

my turn to vent

I dont normally vent on here.. .but apparently i talk about weddin stuff too much.

My bridal party is all sisters, i have 3 and FH has 2. It just seems that noone is interested in anything that has to do with the wedding. Not that i want thier lives to revolve around me but i dont think anyone knows anything other than the place and date. I rarely talk about it becuase i dont want to drive poeple crazy and today i was told that if what poeple are tlkaing about doesnt pertain to my wedding i dont listen or care. I just wanted to cry thats not true!!! So do i not talk about anything ever to anyone and just do it all myself becuase i pretty much want to say no BP party, no guests and just have FH and me there!! I am so sick of people and thier opinions and lack of interest. If you arent contributing ideas or money you have no say!! what is with people!

FH is a huuuge supporter but i just wish i had a bp who was a little interested, i kinda feel forced to have them and yea... i just wish i had a little help.

ahhh feel better with that off my chest. I dont want to sound selfish or unappreciative so i cant complain to anyone else! lol thanks!

ETA: i totally just made no sense and please pay no attention to my lack of spelling skills.

Please vent, it's what this is for!

I can completely understand...sometimes it's really difficult to get people involved. I have to walk on eggshells around one friend, because lest I mention the wedding, she starts to freak, and she's a BM!!!

Just take a deep breath and take one day at a time...soon it will all be over!

I only read the first few lines so far... gonna read more in a second but just wanted to tell you having similar issues with my sisters. Had a huge drama about that yesterday. I wrote one an e-mail and explained how I felt really thoroughly... she got the point. It won't completely change but it is better already. I understand how you feel.

Its understandable to be a little upset. I think sometimes people need to get things off their chests to feel a little better.

For me.. i do and talk wedding more on LIW. i try not to overwhealm the BP with just talking about wedding stuff. Truth is, people who aren't going through it right now, just aren't as interested in it as we are. And that makes sense. I do have one Outstanding BM who has been sooo supportive and wants to be there for everything! I am thankful for her! It's refreshing to talk to her sometimes. but my MOH doesn't seem anywhere's near as interested as the one BM is.

I think you just need to take a moment to relax and remove yourself from wedding planning. You just sound a little but stressed... which happens all the time.. I'm imagining it will only happen moreso as you get closer to the date. (I know I have my stressed out moments too.)

Maybe if you don't talk to any of the BP about anything wedding related for a while.. then do a bunch of work.. wait it out.. and then tell them things. Let them see how much work you are doing without you having to tell them about it.

Also, and I hate to say it.. but sometimes girls get jealous.. and perhaps they don't want to hear about your wedding because it's not them going through the motions??

#1 You are not selfish at all.
#2 People who aren't getting married don't realize that we have to wedding plan non-stop. Of course we talk about it all the time. Its what we do it. It is part of our life. Sometimes I get nervous about being annoying about it but I think part of that is because the annoying bride is such a stereotype. Duh, if you spend every weekend picking out invites/doing make up trials/ect.... thats the stuff you are going to have to talk about.
#3 Try explaining to them about how you feel hurt because they aren't pumped about your wedding. Tell them you understand they don't want to hear about it all the time and you will consider that. But on the other hand, you would like to feel like everyone around you is excited for you so if once in a while they asked to get involved, you would stick to only talking about the wedding at those moments. Say its hard to be so excited when you feel like there is no outlet for it if no one wants to talk.
Just tell them how it hurt you.
Remember, that they probably won't change much but your wedding is about getting married not about them. I accidently told one of my bms while venting about my sister, 'I'm getting married so that I can have a great year with my girlfriends'. She just broke out hysterically laughing and so did I. I didn't mean that. I meant we chose to have a big wedding because we wanted the hoopla and so when its not there I get upset. But no, we are really getting married because we love FHs.
Its great that yours is supportive when you are upset. So is mine. Wedding planning can be super tough and you really learn a lot about your relationship. Look how strong you are realizing yours is!
Ps. We are excited for you and you can always share with us.

Re: my turn to vent

thank you girls. Somedays i love this site so much!!

I think i am just overwhelmed becuase i never know if i should talk wedding or not. They know nothing becuase i havent told them anything but they dont ask so i just figure they arent interested. I dont know.

with the exception of FH there is not one person i talk wedding to in my real life, i guess im not so sure how to handle it.

Just looking at your info... We are getting married a week apart! Your gown info said you designed your Casablanca wedding gown. Are you a dress designer?

No im not a dress designer.. lol. I am just picky and couldnt find anything i liked so i chose a casablanca dress that i could alter a bit and thier designers custom made the dress for me :)

This just made me laugh, because no-1 wants to hear me to talk wedding even after the wedding. When you are the bride all you want to do is talk wedding, I tried to squeeze wedding talk into almost every convo, I guess people just don't get it. Thats was LIW is so wonderful, you can talk wedding all day and night if you want....
