First I just wanted to say thanks to MrsJuneB2B for choosing me to be BOTW. . long ago when I first joined this site I couldn't have imagined caring about being BOTW but after all the chatting, planning, getting and receiving help, it really does seem special and I am happy to get a chance before the big day!!!!
So, here's my first QOTD . . I was thinking, as today is a holiday. .
What is the first holiday that you spent with FH and what made it important or how did it change your relationship?

Well we have been friends since we were 8 but as a couple the first holiday we spent together was Halloween- does that count? And I got to see what he was like taking my sisters trick or treating with me. It was great!

our first holiday together that meant something to us, was our first valentines day. we had been dating just about 4 months, and it was very serious. Fh actually took me to the beach got down on one knee and gave me a big seashell (lol i know), and bascially told me that when he could afford a real ring he would, but he wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. He ended up later that day writing in that shell this whole big speech he had said to me earlier at the beach. 'Someday i will ask again...' i still have it and it sits on my dresser and everytime i look at it i smile

4th of July-
FH and I met in June 07, and that 4th of July we made it 'offiicial' and became boyfriend/girlfriend (how sweet!)
Well wouldn't you know, the following 4th of July FH proposed!
So that is our most special holiday.

oh good stories. . I think I forgot to answer. .The first holiday that we spent together was easter, FH is jewish so it was his first easter. . he was in the process of driving from AZ to NY where he was moving to be with me . He stopped at his dad's in MN where I happened to be for work. . I got him this easter basket filled wth all kinds of things and spent that saturday with his family (meeting the first time) then on Sunday we had brunch at this awful, awful restaurant on my way to the airport. . we toasted ' may this be the first, and the worse of our many holiday meals together' I think it was just special b/c we were so in love even though the rest was soooooo bad it was still special. .

our first holiday was christmas. christmas is always special to me, but somehow adding FH into the scenery made it so much more special, in a different way. our first christmas was a few months after we had become 'official' ... he came over and spent christmas morning with me and my family after he came from his family's traditional morning. he gave me such cute thoughtful gifts, ...i remember i had gone shopping for him and tried to pick out a few things to wear...i bought him a sweater and a shirt and he was so happy to get gifts from me. he told me that i was the first girl that he'd ever been with (or cared about) around christmas, and that made my christmas gifts the first he'd ever gotten from a girl that he loved. my fh...is captain christmas and i just fall in love with him every time. i love this question! good one!

our first holiday was christmas, I'm jewish, so fh invited me over to help him decorate a mini xmas tree (prior to xmas) that his mom bought him for his apt, and then he invited his parents and brother over to meet me...it was cute and nice meeting them...it was like an icebreaker since i guess fh knew he was going to be bringing me to his parents house for xmas!

Technically the first holiday that occurred after me and FH met was Thanksgiving, but since we had only known each other about 3 weeks at that point we didn't spend it together. So the first holiday was really Christmas, and we still didn't spend it together, but we did exchange gifts. At that point, FH still refused to call me his girlfriend
I guess what made it special was that it was the first time we exchanged gifts, so it was interesting to see what the other came up with. I was in the city with my family, and we went to the flea market in Bryant Square Park, and I bought him a little pastel print of Dave Matthews because I knew that was his favorite band, and a zip up hoodie of the USA Olympic team from the summer olympics that had just passed in Athens (it was 2004).
All he could come up with for me was a bottle of perfume from VS lol.
He still taunts me about the hoodie, because even though it said large on it, it must have been a children's large, because he was like a little sausage in a casing in it, so he wore it once to appease me, and god only knows where it is now. At least it's a cool keepsake!

Great question!!!!!
I met FH for the first time in early October 2005. Every weekend after that, I saw him, either at his place in CT or at my place in Brooklyn. We had such an amazing time getting to know each other.
Still, I was surprised when just a few weeks after meeting, he asked me to come down to NC with him to meet his family for Thanksgiving. I was nervous, but had nothing to be nervous about!
That Thanksgiving, only a little over a month after we met, we first exchanged our 'I love you's, laying on his parents' couch in their living room late one evening.
Kinda hard to believe how far we've come since then -- gotten to know each other so much better, yet still feel as strongly or stronger towards each other.

We met in July so our first holiday was Thanksgiving. His parents live in FL but come up for Thanksgiving every year so the night before Thanksgiving was the first time I met them. He had to work in the morning and then went over to his aunt's for Thanksgiving dinner. I spent Thankgsiving at my cousin's house, but went over to meet the rest of his family later on (he had already gotten to know most of my family).

Actually, our first holiday together was Christmas '07 since we had JUST started dating about two weeks prior. After two or three dates, I encouraged him to come with me to a Christmas party one of my friends (now a BM) was having with all of our Sayville friends. It was SO NICE for FH to see Christmas since he's Jewish. . .and the fact that I felt so comfortable bringing him over to meet some of my friends so soon was a MAJOR sign of things to come.

Our first date was the day before Easter, but I don't think that counts. It was actually Memorial Day! We went to Mystic, CT for a mini-vacation. So that was two years ago! And we have spent every holiday together since!
