As I look through the bridal reviews, I love how diff brides went through such great lengths to match things up. Meaning, they had a monogram that appeared throughout the wedding on the aisle runner/ favor boxes etc etc...
How do I get a unified look w/out spending tons of money to customize everything?
I don't want to spend money a custom aisle runner that I will never use again My favors are pretty standard ( I am adding a green ribbon to tie in with the color scheme) I am using the direction cards and menus provided by the CB
Is there no hope for me? I mean I think things will still turn out well, but I think my standards are set too high after seeing all the great lengths you guys are going through/ the creativity of past brides.
Anyone feel the same?

I feel the same too - sometimes I really think I am 'Bad Bride.'

I def. felt the same way. So I thought I could have the seal of the invitation, the favor tag and the programs with the same monogram or motif. Thats all I came up with...I'm not very creative...well at least I'm not spending the money to be.

OMG, I feel the same way. I dont think I have an exact 'theme' and it is bugging me. I want everything to look like it matches and things were well put togther, but that is just not me.

Re: My Wedding has No Fluidity....
I am having a very unified wedding....but it all kind of fell together.
How to make it cohesive without spending a ton?
Stick to a couple of fonts and use them for your invitations/place cards/ table numbers. Your colors, favor tags.
Maybe your table numbers and cake topper can have something in common? A motif/a monogram. Think of a few places where something like this will have the most impact.
Remember, it's about the complete package- the candles, the music, the ambiance and above all- the emotion. All weddings are beautiful!
Don't feel bad

Re: My Wedding has No Fluidity....
I freaked out about this too. I felt like I was such a bad bride because I hardly did any DIY, I didn't monogram everything, I didn't do the slipper baskets, the oot bags, I didn't order invites that matched everything.
Guess what I choose not to go bonkers trying to make everything matchy match and it was all fine. No-1 notices all of that stuff anyways. As long as you have good vendors, and great food, and people are having a good time that is all that matters.

Re: My Wedding has No Fluidity....
mine doesnt have all that matching stuff...i dont even have colors ..i have like 6 colors that r all fall themed...trust me if u have good music n good food..people will love ur wedding
but i will pop out of ur cake if u want to spice it up
honestly...screw themes! lol A wedding is a special celebration of your love (wow that was gay). But really....guests just want to see the bride and groom...who cares about the damn monogram on the floor and matching napkins and matches and crap...I did most of that stuff and what did my guests talk about....my gown, the food and the band...LOL

I know what you mean...I hate the question ..So what is your 'Theme'? I don't have one since it's a small wedding with only family and close friends I figure that would be my theme and nothing really visual and I'm happy with that!

Count me in as a bad bride. I refuse to drive myself crazy with all the tiny details that people overlook. I think the focus should be on the bride and groom anyway. I also would hope that my guests are too busy on the dance floor to notice the little things

Re: My Wedding has No Fluidity....
I didn't have theme to my wedding.
The only thing I did to 'tie' things together was use the same color on my invitations, placecards and programs. I didn't have a monogram or any universal design. All I did was use the same color. I don't think people really notice if some universal element isn't there. The only notice when it is.

Don't worry about what you may read on these boards. Their are tons of inspiration and ideas that you can get for free. Marth Stewart wedding blogs has many free templates that can help you create menus, placecards , etc...

You're wedding will be amazing whether you have a theme or not. But if it's the fact that you want to maybe personalize things, there are a few ways to do it without breaking the bank. I never thought that I was a crafty person at all but lo and behold...I ended up doing my own invites that saved me aton of $$ and everyone loved them. I did monogram cake topper that cost me a total of $15 to do. That was including the letters, rhinestones and glue. I did my own centerpieces that were very inexpensive and very easy for my RH to set up. I received such beautiful compliments from my guests and A LOT of the ladies on here (thanks ladies). I was on a VERY tight budget and ended up doing a lot of things myself. It was more of a necessity than anything else but I enjoyed it (for the most part) and it was MY personal touch for the wedding. These ladies on here have some amazing ideas and talent. I'm sure anyone of them including myself would be more than willing to help you out with anything. Just remember your wedding is going to be beautiful because it's the day you and FH become one with or without the monograms etc.

Thanks!!!!!! am actually starting to feel better now that I know I am not alone.... I think I have too much time to think! Sept needs to hurry up and get here.
I have tons of personal touch ideas that will add a unique flair but I guess I was too focused on having a stream lined look. Thanks again ladies!!!

I can see why you feel this way but honestly...the only person that is going to notice things like that is you.... I am not doing any thing like that because like you said the money...and honestly...what are you going to do with a monogramed aisle runner that costs $200?
I say that all these little things do not really mean that much... as long as you have a great day and the big things go as planned let the need for these little things go. ...use that money that you saved to go on a longer HM or buy a house or something.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I'm not going super crazy with things, but I'm very frugal and a smart shopper. Things I am buying are fairly inexpensive, and the things that I'm buying that are splurges are my masks, but that's what I collect so it's not wasted money. I just tell myself...if it's missing and no one will notice, it's really not necessary, and I don't buy it lol.

Re: My Wedding has No Fluidity....
If you really do want a theme you don't have to spend a million bucks. Like my theme is a fall leaf basically so everything i have bought has been relatively inexpensive and i have incorporated my leaf motif into my stationary that i am going to DIY. I'm not doing the monogrammed aisle runner just too much $$ to spend on something not alot of people will even see for that i may upgrade to have a our names displayed on the dance floor. You really have to pick and choose. Just in case i've purchased most off my stuff off of wrapwithus.com and favorfavor.com and they have grouped everything into themes.

Re: My Wedding has No Fluidity....
I didn't have a theme, or custom monogram or ANYTHING like that, BUT...
I put touches of pale pink throughout everything...like pale pink program covers, pink dresses, pink napkins, etc...(my fav color)
then i put our last name initial 'M' on the placecards, 'M' stickers on the petal cones, 'M' on the programs...
As my favors I had nice glass coasters with etched seashells and starfish on them, and my placecards were tied with skinny pink ribbon onto various types of dried starfish.
NONE of this stuff costed any huge amount of money...but it was a few touches that added some 'fluidity' to my wedding...i was thrilled with how everything looked and appeared...and it was quite simple!!!
Good luck
ETA: I didn't want to commit to ONE 'theme' so I picked a few little things I loved and sprinkled them a couple of times throughout the day...it worked beautifully! Just an alternate to a legit THEME theme. lol

Re: My Wedding has No Fluidity....
I know how you feel. I dont really have a theme. I'm trying to stick with the colors on everything but its really hard when FH orders matchbooks on his own.......yes ladies thats right FH took it upon himself to help out and ordered the matchbooks. I love him for helping but our colors are burgandy and pink and he ordered black matchbooks with white writing (they match the save the dates). so now I feel like I have other colors being brought into the wedding and its getting a bit overwhelming.
