my wedding is in 9 days and STILL missing RSVPs

WHO are these people and where do they come from?! One of the missing RSVPs is from a couple that got married 2 years ago so they KNOW the ins and outs of wedding planning!!

I managed to get hold of them on the phone and the guy said they're in the process of buying house and they don't know yet if they need to be in Virginia to sign the final papers the day of my wedding, and they won't know until next week! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then another couple never sent in their RSVP but send me a wedding card with a check. I guess that means they're not coming?!?!

In other news... yesterday was my 32nd birthday and I took the day off and finished my DIY programs, OOT baskets and placecards! Photos in the DIY board.

I wouldn't say for sure that the person who sent the card isn't coming. I do that sometimes because I don't like bringing cards and checks to receptions in the event they get stolen. I've seen it happen at several weddings I've been to so I am nervous about that. But you would think they would tell you in the card, 'I'm coming, just wanted to send you this in advance ...'

When is your final count due?? Can you wait on those people who might be in VA?

Ugh, so frustrating. My RSVP date is today and I do not know what 30 or so people are doing. My cousin is one of them, who's engaged to a woman but they are going through a rough patch, and he stopped by my parent's house yesterday and said 'I'm coming, Maria might be.' UM, no. I need a definite answer. I understand the problem, I do. But my cousin WORKED AT A RECEPTION HALL. He should understand that they need a count!!!! I am not paying for her in the hopes she comes.

some people do not send back their rsvp card and still show up at the wedding its rude but its reality

That is so very rude!!! I am sure you have to give your RH a final count so you may need to call everyone.

I've called these people several times but they honestly don't seem to care. I need to give the final headcount by Monday...

Try calling one more time and see if you can get an answer from these people or have your mom/FMIL call for you maybe they will be more willing to give a definite answer to them.
If you still don't get a response then ask you RH if you can give them a smaller count then add them on if they show up at the wedding. That really stinks because you will have to be sure to have extra cash on hand and some idea of where to seat them.
This a big pet peeve of mine and just makes me want to shake people!!!!

bottom line is you will not know till the day of.. we have two people show up that did not rsvp.. now that i think about it wish we didn't have any no shows (which i had about 8) that these people would have to stand..

eta: Happy Birthday!!! next birthday you'll be a wifey!!
