MY WEDDING IS SEPTEMBER 4TH - NEED HELP QUICK!!!!

I'm posting this again because I am getting married in 2 months and the hotel, where I am having my reception has been sold! Not only did I have to find out about it when I was reading Newsday, but the Wyndham still hasn't sent me any kind of written statement that the property has been sold - as they promised on Monday afternoon.

I've spoken several times with the management at the Wyndham Wind Watch and no one can give me any definite answers on the rebranding of the hotel. Basically what it will be called - what services, etc they will offer. All they will say is that they will honor the contract - I say what contract? My agreement is with the Wyndham not some investment firm that bought them. I don't know about anyone out there, but I paid $$$$$ for the Wyndham and it's services.

I'm so upset!! My FMIL is even more upset!!
Has anyone out there gone through this? Or something similar to this?

While all of this is going on I went and scouted out other catering halls and happened to find one for my date. I feel like I need a back up when all of this stuff is so up in the air.

I have a meeting with the folks from Wyndham on Friday evening. In the meantime I have been getting'all my ducks in a row' as far as info. If anyone has any idea's or advice I'd really appreciate it!!!!

I just wanted to say best of luck!! I know that you are upset right now (and I would be too!) I'm sure that everything will work out after you meet with them on Friday!!

I'm sure the new owners will honor the agreement, they don't want to do something that would be bad for future business. I'm not sure what you should do to prepare, but make a list of questions:
Will there be any construction going on?
Are they changing the name?
Will the same food be available?
Will the people that reserved rooms still have reservations at the same agreed upon price?
Wil the same people be working with you or will they be replaced?
Stuff like that...

Don't panic yet- wait until you talk to them. Sometime with new owners nothing even changes, just management. I always end up worrying about things that I can't control and then they end up fine. I will be thinking about you and want to hear how it turns out.

My FSIL got married at the Wyndham almost 6 years ago - when it was the Marriot (I think)...the name changed the day after she got married - but the hotel was already bought by the Wyndham.

I would not fret so much - this happens all the time in the world of chain hotels. Just be sure to get everything in writing from the new management - that they honor everything that you already have contracted with the Wyndham. Who knows, maybe they will throw in a few extras for you!
