My wedding is this weekend and I am depressed more and more
First of all, it could just be emotions going on. Friday was the batchelorette party and it was great and we all drank way too much :P So saturday was one of those wasted days and then FI put the ac on sat night so I woke up with a bad cold yesterday that has gotten worse. Last night, I was watching the news (BIG MISTAKE) and they were talking about how the hijackers were trying to rent a crop duster and all that...This morning they were telling the difference between chemical and biological warfare and describing it. Now I know this is supposed to be a happy time and I cant wait for my wedding on sunday but I am not looking forward to the honeymoon. I was yesterday until all this happened... Sounds silly but I am so afraid when we get back, NY wont be here...from some biological hazard or another. I am sorry if I depress anyone but this is really getting to me. I know everyone will be ok and if its my time...thats fine but I just worry all my family, friends and everyone will be sick or something... I almost dont want to go away so at least I can be here... I know its silly but how can I get over this?? I want to be happy and I will stay away from the news and all the talk of what is going on (which as you know is next to impossible) but what if we are in war or something?? Thanks for letting me vent girls!

I wish I knew what to say to you. My wedding is in 13 days and the events of the last 13 days have changed my life forever. I now look at my wedding day as the start of a new life. My fiance and I have grown even closer in the past two weeks and we realize even more now how precious life is. I won`t feel guilty, I won`t be scared and I won`t be sad. I`m not nervous - I`ve never felt more calm. October 7th will be the happiest day of my life. We`ll have a wedding full of people (physically and spiritually) who love and support us. Hang in there. Try to remember how you felt on September 10th about marrying the love of your life. Life and love are beautiful gifts. God bless.

First, your feelings and concerns are normal. All this stuff that is going on coupled with the happiness of your wedding day and you are bound to feel alot of conflict in your emotions. With the fears and concerns, I go though it, we all do I think. Some days I`m stronger and more positive and that`s when I try to help those who are having a bad day (just like others have done the same for me). My best advice: Take it one day at a time. It`s detrimental to your daily well being to innundate yourself with too much news. I`m not saying to strive for ignorance but practice the simplest things like turning the TV off or disengaging from conversations you can avoid - after awhile it`s just not productive. Like Kathi said, live and love for today and keep the faith and hope that the world will come out of this a better place. Do I have a guarantee of this? No, but through faith I can at least make myself less of a walking bundles of nerves and stress and find some strength in the awareness that I don`t have all the answers. I don`t know if this helps but I hope it does a little bit. God bless.

It is hard to concentrate on happy things now, but TRY! Tragedies such as this do teach us one thing--and that is to hold onto our loved ones with all of our might and cherish every day and every moment with them. Tell your family you love them and have faith that we will all get through this, together. And actually, ironically, NY is probably much safer now than it was before. There is so much heightened security and awareness that the police, military, govt and other authorities are on full alter to prevent any more destruction...so let them do their job and you do yours, which is to make your weddig day the happiest day of your life! Best wishes! :0)
