my wedding regrets....

ok, i've been regretting lots of little things along the way, and now it's all catching up to me. i know everything is going to be beautiful, and worth it, I just feel like I lost my vision somehow.

regret not pushing for a city wedding

regret doing it on a thursday

regret ordering my dress in ivory

regret my BM dresses (mostly the color)

regret booking a hair person without having another trial

regret not speaking up more about FHs tux

regret not getting married at a hotel

........ i just had to get that off my chest.

i can ease one of your regrets very quickly... i did A LOT of research on city weddings bc i was dead set on it... the nicer hotels in the city range from $350- $500 pp... other locations like lofts are raw spaces require HUGE site fees one place i really wanted had a $15,000 site fee... alsoo most places u need outside catering and only alow certain top notch vendors which run about $200pp for just the food

Aww it's hard bc there's so many decisions to be made that it's so easy to second guess yourself. But I'm sure once you see everything all together it will look beautiful!!!

You might have these regrets now ... but I am sure once you get married and have your beautiful day, they won't really matter to you ... as long as you marry your FH, everything else will pale in importance, I am sure of it.

But here's a few for you anyway

on the thursday night wedding... I originally had a thursday but changed due to circumstances beyond control. that being said I've been to thursday night weddings and had an awesome time even though I had to go to work the next day. She invited 406 and 366, only 40 people said no! Whoever wants to be there will be there.

i'm sorry you are feeling this way. just my two cents if it's worth anything.

i'm sure your dress looks amazing on you. there has to be a reason you ordered it in ivory to begin with! i just looked at your pic and your coloring looks like it will be perfect for ivory!

sil's wedding was at the inn and it was beautiful! it will be great!!

i think you still have time to change your FH's tux and change your hair person....i didn't book mine until 2 months before my wedding!

and the end of the day, you will be married to the love of your life and best friend and that's all that really matters!!

sorry you are feeling blue, but to answer you regarding the dress. Don't worry about it. I got mine in white instead of ivory and I regret it now. The ivory will bring out the details on your dress in your pics than white does. That is just my opinion. As far as a city wedding, if you are referring to Manhattan I do not think you should regret it bc it would obviously cost you way more money than you are spending. You have a few months, maybe you can look into pushing the date to Fri, Sat or Sun if it is still available. Don't be afraid to ask, for all you know there may be an open slot.

Everything is going to be amazing, dont sweat the small stuff. (I should give myself this advice! lol)

City weddings are very expensive!....Thursday will work out just fine besides you will be so wrapped up in the wedding you wont remember what day of the week it is.. and the ppl that matter to you and are important to you will be there no matter what day also and Alot of the time you cant even tell that the dress is ivory unless you are standing next to someone in bright white

Re: my wedding regrets....

Everyone worries about things prior to their wedding. Most of those worries turn out to be nothing, and they work themselves out. I had regrets and I didn't do anything to change them and now I really regret them. I didn't like my gown and I am sorry I didn't get another one. I also hated my hair the day of and felt bad about saying so, so I attempted to fix it myself (not a good idea). So if something really really bothers you; you should change it. If its something small than most likely no-1 will notice it, and it will just work itself out.

SHE IS TOTALLY RIGHT!!! And it's a massive expense for the guests as well. I wish I had mine in the city as well, but with the world as it is right now, I have to say I'm happy I didn't go for the extra expense.

Before the pile-on, remember I said I wished I had mine in the city, and if you do have it there, that's awesome.

Also, Ivory dresses are gorgeous, and I think you will look outstanding!!

I forgot the other ones. Oh, wait, I can't help with BM dresses, because I don't know what color you got, but you picked that color for a reason.

And if you booked the hair lady, you must have liked it! Believe me, I booked my first, and it was so atrocious, I knew right away I needed to book a second. If you didn't feel that way, then it was because you looked in the mirror and loved it! Don't worry about that one, either.

Hope this helps! Of course, it's really easy for me to be all 'It's all okay!', when, of course, I have my regrets as well. Specifically, taking October, November, and December off my diet, and my resulting whale @ss.

Re: my wedding regrets....

Wait! I see you're getting married in September?? Earlier poster has a point- are you able to ask for another day? You never know! Also, you have PLENTY of time to speak up about FH's tux! We just ordered ours yesterday, and the wedding is in a month! There is a lot you can still do. And regarding the ivory, Jenny is totally right. You can usually barely tell unless it's against something white. However, just note, I was advised by the tux guys that it's a good idea then for your groom to wear an ivory shirt, because then your dress doesn't look darker in the pics. You're going to be okay, spider!!!

I agree with this. I wouldn't say I've had regrets throughout at all, but definately 2nd guesses, but after the wedding none of that will matter!
