My Wedding - vendor review
Everything was lovely, it rained a little but it didn’t matter. Here’s the breakdown:
Photographer: ADA Studios, wonderful! Tony, the owner did our pictures, what a pleasure. The day after we returned from the honeymoon (I was away for 2 weeks and left right after my wedding) I received a phone call that my proofs were ready – and they were all so beautiful, very creative and reasonably priced I would recommend them to anyone.
Florist: Flower Michelle in Huntington – I received so many compliments on the girl’s bouquets, how they matched the dresses perfectly and all of the flowers lasted the whole night. Our centerpieces were a dozen and a half light lavender roses, beautiful; everyone wanted to be the taker at the end of the night. I would also recommend them to any bride – great prices as well. The owner John is so passionate about his work and had so many ideas, he made the whole experience an absolute delight.
Band: Code Blu OK – I had very high expectations going into this. We saw them perform at a bridal showcase and you wouldn’t believe how many people ran over there after they were through to book them, including me. They sound great are very talented people – but they desperately need to get some new material. While I received so many compliments about the wedding, this was the 1 complaint every one mentioned to me, the band was playing lousy music. For the first 2 hours of the nights it was all slow music, not one person was on the dance floor – finally my husband and one of my bridesmaids went over and said something to them and they started playing more upbeat music. However after playing all of the very cool songs the played at the showcase (maybe an hours worth of music) it was all top 20 hits from the 80’s after that. I have to admit, I was very disappointed that we went with them over ‘Kameleon’ who we originally were going after (they were more expensive though). Anyway, what can you do – I wouldn’t recommend them, not just on my own opinion but many people commented on them.
Video: Duval – I can’t really say much about them until I see the video. I didn’t notice them all night so they were unobtrusive. However, the video guy asked us in the beginning of the night if we wanted to say something on the video at the end of the night and we said that we did. But he never came up to us, very strange. When I went to drop off my honeymoon pictures I mentioned this to the manager there and he just said well, maybe he forgot…….anyway…
Reception Hall: East Wind, the Estate – thank goodness for them because they literally saved the wedding. Everyone raved about the food and the service. We had a sushi bar (delicious) and the Viennese hour. There was just so much food at the cocktail hour, everyone was so stuffed. The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the Salmon – but it was nothing, everything else was amazing. I had 4 people tell me it was the best wedding they had ever been to (and all 4 also said they didn’t like the band). I would recommend them to anyone.
