Myshower was Saturday

I had a wonderful time. Scott is going to scan the invite that Stef made for it today. It is so creative- wait until you see it.

Claud was taking photos for me so here are the first of many photos that I will be posting from the shower.

There was a tea-pot type theme since I really love tea pots. It was at Polini's in Haupppauge (Rt.347). Food and Service was very good. Many of my guests were super creative/crafty. Of course, Claud was ultra-creative and people kept asking her how she finds time to do this stuff with a little one I got a lot of beautiful gifts and basically just need to shop for a few things now.

Here is my cake. As many of you know I hated the way my wedding cake came out so my stepmom knew that shower cake was very important.

My sister made everyone choclate tea cups with pink and blue M&Ms in them as favors.

Of course, when my friend's little one showed up I was very happy..I hadn't seen her in a few days

Here is Scott in the Daddy Tool Belt that Claud made for him. It had gloves, Shout wipes, goggles, a diaper and all the 'fun' stuff Daddy's need in the middle of the night.

Most Tearful Moment of my Day: all of my guests had a polaroid taken and wrote a little message to me on the photo. My Nanny's sister, my great aunt Amelia wrote 'God Bless love great gramdma and me' She misses her sister as much as I miss my grandma and she knows that. She sorta feels that she can still 'speak' for her, if that makes any sense. They were VERY close. And since, during these days, my heart is not really whole she tries to bring her into the memory.

Most surprise gift: My friend's (who just got back from China with Caroline) SIL and MIL knitted me a stunning blanket. They wanted to do something nice for me since I throw Diane her baby shower. How sweet was that?

I tried to start unpacking some of the stuff yesterday but since our furniture is not here yet it is hard. Scott will be working on the closet organizer stuff today and during the week so I have some places to put stuff.

So I am ready for baby......shouldn't that mean baby is ready to join us?......

Michelle, I am so happy for you. It sounds like your shower was wonderful. Your baby is so lucky to have such excited and loving parents and such a large, extended group of family and friends to help out. When is the furniture coming? Can't wait to see the room set up.

I have some fellow early birds up with me
We will have the furniture delivered at the end of October. DH finished painting the room and has a bit of touch up to do- not much. Then everything is being cleared out (it has been my 'extra' room for a while) and baby stuff goes in.
The muralist will come once the baby is home since we do not know if we need a boy or girl room.

Sounds like a great baby shower. Seems like everyone really put a lot of thought into everything to make sure it was very special.

It was a lovely day and I think everyone had a great time The food at Polini's was really good - especially the penne al a vodka (which I wasn't supposed to have - BUT, I was celebrating )

I am glad you like your gifts, Michele The white blanket was also handmade for you - by my friend's grandmother...she made one just like it for me when Paul was born. I hope it is as special to you as the other.

Claud- of course it is as special. I was just shocked that Pedro's sister made me anything at all since I have only met her once and for only a very brief time I plan on using your blanket at the Christening, along with the bundting (sp) that my stepmom gave me since it will be in January.

Stefanie made me a Diaper Bag gift full of goodies, and soo cute- 2 pairs of baby sunglasses, one black and one pink (since we do not know the baby's gender just yet). Cindy got me my baby gym (blanket full of toys that the baby plays with on the floor). Oh, and one of my SIL's got me a Tiffany silver baby spoon, which was really a very nice gift and something I had already showed Scott that I wanted. Most people know I LOVE that blue box And the baby's godmother got me my bassinet, which we will put up in a week or so since Beemer needs to get used to all of this new stuff.
