myspace is bad...

myspace is bad...

A close friend of mine wanted to be sure her DH wasn't doing anything shady on myspace and I think now things are out of control.

She created a profile as a pretty young girl and started talking to her DH. Her Dh started talking back to her and she told him to meet up with her someplace. He asked her what days she's free and she told him. Then he said that he'll see what he can do and then he told her not to forget about him....

I cannot believe this! My friend just had a baby a little over a year ago and it seemed to me that their relationship was fine!!!

Do you think he's just having fun and isn't going to act on it? Or is this really serious?

I was going to post this on LIF because I'm there all the time...but then again...so is she, I'm just worried about her and I want to help her.

TIA ladies...any thoughts would be appreciated!!!

Unfotunately, this is what happens when people snoop. They find the very thing they don't want to find.

If it were me, I would take it all the way to the top. If he responds, especially with sexual language, and agreed to meet, I'd be right there waiting for him....with divorce papers.

Wow! I wish that I had some great advice for your friend, but I am at a loss. All I know is that such actions are no okay in my book.

This is something along the lines of what I was going to suggest.

I feel so bad for her because this is not the first time she's caught him doing something sketchy...

I agree. She has to go all the way now - or she will always wonder. Your poor friend

I agree and IMO I think its good that she snooped. Follow your instintcs. I would rather know what was really going on and move on from there that not know at all.

If I were her I would pick a place and time and actually meet him there.

I agree... arrange a meeting. My sneaky side says she shouldn't even take her car and shouldn't be immediately visible to him when he walks in, because he might catch on and bail at the last second. And have all of their convos from MySpace printed out to confront him with.

This isn't the first time he's been shady? F that, man, he needs to straighten up or be gone.

ugh - this is like my worst nightmare

but yes - I would take it through to the end to see if he really shows up

I agree with other the ladies. She needs to finish this and see where it goes. He could just be using it for an ego boost and not really looking to take it any further. But with problems in the past it's extremely possible he is looking to stray or may already be. She should probably consult a divorce lawyer also.

Hugs to your friend

there maybe some deeper problems here that she needs to address.

She snooped because she feels something isn't right.

She may be right. It's time for her to sit down with him w/o mentioning my space.

This is horrible! If this was me, I would probably talk to him directly about it. She'll have to admit she snooped, but what he's doing is far worse.

Although, depending on how angry I was, I might continue the conversation, and show up to meet him, then let him have it.

How 'young' is the pretty young thing he thinks he's talking with? I hope not below the age of 18--that gets too creepy.

Your poor friend

At this point she does have to take it all the way and like the other girl mentioned, I would be waiting there with divorce papers.

JMO-but this is drastic. Obviously there are problems in the relationship that need attention. I wouldn't be waiting with divorce papers. Do you know how final that is? That is not always the answer to problems like this.

I wish your friend well and I hope she confronts him and tries to work it out.

In most situations I would totally agree with you, but it seems that this guy has a history of this kind of behavior. Sometimes you just have to let go of someone like that and move on.

I don't think it's drastic. I don't know their relationship specifically, but my FH knows in no uncertain terms that if he were to cheat on me I would leave him imediately and not look back. If this guy's willing to meet some chick he met on the internet in a date stiuation he has every intention of cheating. IMO, a man who does that has no respect for his wive and I wouldn't want to be married to a guy who didn't respect me.
