Unfotunately, this is what happens when people snoop. They find the very thing they don't want to find.

If it were me, I would take it all the way to the top. If he responds, especially with sexual language, and agreed to meet, I'd be right there waiting for him....with divorce papers.

Well said!

JMO-but this is drastic. Obviously there are problems in the relationship that need attention. I wouldn't be waiting with divorce papers. Do you know how final that is? That is not always the answer to problems like this.

I wish your friend well and I hope she confronts him and tries to work it out.

I don't think it's drastic. I don't know their relationship specifically, but my FH knows in no uncertain terms that if he were to cheat on me I would leave him imediately and not look back. If this guy's willing to meet some chick he met on the internet in a date stiuation he has every intention of cheating. IMO, a man who does that has no respect for his wive and I wouldn't want to be married to a guy who didn't respect me.

Still think that divorce is drastic. Problems can be worked out. People do things for all kinds of reasons. I'm not saying that cheating is right or should be condoned, but we don't know the whole story. If you were in that position with a new baby you might feel differently.

I was just agreeing with what Katherine121 said, which was that if she was in the situation she would do that. I would, too. The original poster said that this guy has been shady before. I'm not saying that this woman should leave her husband, but if it was me I would. A woman can't be forced to take her marriage seriously when her husband obviously doesn't. She should do what is best for her and her child. My stating my opinion and how I would handle the situation is in no way an instruction manual on how she should handle herself, only my hypothetical way of dealing with a situation she is actually in.

I am just stating that it's drastic. The divorce rate is high because many people just give up. You can't just give up. She has no proof that he cheated according to her post. Also according to her post we can't tell if he's done anything shady before except being on my space and flirting with someone he thinks likes him. I agree, there are problems here, but I would not just give up and hand him divorce papers. They need to fix their problems, not just walk away from them. I was just stating my opinion as well.

Re: myspace is bad...

Ok, so here's the update. She let it go on for 2 days and she actually set up a time for them to meet. She called me this morning and said she couldn't take it anymore she had to tell him. So last night she told him that this 'girl' e-mailed her their conversation and she was so upset. He came clean and told her everything, but also said that it was his friend doing the talking. He swore that he wasn't doing anything and promised to her that since his history in the past, he's trying to be a better person.

We'll see what happens...

I actually think she should have not done that. Obviously there is a trust issue in their relationship, I feel for your friend though.

I am sorry that she is going through this, I feel sorry for her. If that was me, I would have gone through with it and met him somewhere with a huge kick in the B**LS when he got there. Someone else had posted that maybe he was just having fun with it and not really intending to do anything. I think that is possible believe it or not, guys love the ego boost and will flirt given the opportunity even if they have absolutely no intention of ever taking it anywhere. They like to feel like they 'still got it', but they know they dont have to cheat to do that. If he really is a shady guy and would do this type of thing, this wont stop him, he will just find sneakier ways to do it. She just blew the chance she had to find out if he would IMO.

OMG thats terrible.

I think I'd set 'an appt' - and wait there with his MOTHER.....to see who shows.

This is why I said, when you start something like this, you've got to take it to the top or don't do it. If there is a trust issue in the relationship, TALK ABOUT IT. Don't SNOOP. When someone is snooping, they are only looking for confirmation of their mistrust, a hunch that they have that someone is not being honest with them.

If someone is cheating and cheating long enough, they will slip up, sooner or later. You won't even have to go looking for it.

I really hope that their relationship works out, and that he's being honest with her about being a better person.

I wish your friend luck; I hope that next time she suspects something that she can confront him head on.
