Mystic Tan? Anyone tried it?

Mystic Tan? Anyone tried it?

So after years and years of sun worship, I though I would try the Mystic Tan as an alternative to a tanning bed (very bad, I know). I am so nervous though because I don't know anyone who's done it before so I have no idea what the result is. Any feedback is appreciated!!!!

Someone I know works for Sephora in the marketing department in NYC. She tries all the products and she gave me the rundown on all the good stuff and what is not great. She raves about Mystic Tan. I actually complimented her on her tan and that is when she said that she uses Mystic Tan. She said to just buy the body one and use it for your face and body. She said the face one has a shimmer to it, so you may not want that. I am actually going to pick up some soon!

i have gone to get mystic tan many many times before, and ill be honest...sometimes is great, others not so much...

you have to apply this lotion so the color doesnt adhere to your fingernails, between your toes and hands...if you do it right...it comes out perfect, but if you put a little too much/not enough, it gets all messed up...

where do you plan on getting it done?

I was thinking about getting it done at a tanning salon; there are 2 that are local (Northport area).

I am nervous now! I am currently really fair (but I tan deeply, evidenced by my profile pic) but I really want it to look as natural as possible.

How do I prevent it from getting 'messed up' ? I have to wait a while to shower after, right? Are there different levels of color?

i wouldnt suggest going to the palm beach or beach bum(i forgot which one it is) on 25 in commack, they have an older machine...there are different levels either reg or dark....always go reg and get it scented with NO bronzer (that will turn you color and get all over your clothes!)

Just make sure you put a thin coat of the lotion in between your toes and fingers and on your finger nails and toe nails...also on your heels and elbows and knees...remember to towel off when you are done, but do it in upward motions, dont rub. and dont shower for 4 hours afterward.

The one on Jericho is a Palm Beach -- I think the 'newer' machine is offered at a salon in Huntington, so maybe I'll go there! Give me motivation to go to the gym first too LOL

OK so no bronzer.... I'll start with reg LOL for sure! and the lotion in a thing later..... no rubbing after...

Thanks so much!!!! I'm nervous! LOL

Also, just a tip-Make sure to exfoliate before you go. Neutrogena sells a body exfoliator. It really helps in evening out the color.

I followed this link to another Mystic tan thread b/c I'm curious too and when I saw a post from a bride that did it for her wedding I looked at her pics- you can see how it came 9out on her- looks like she started out very pale (like me) so it was a decent reference...
