i went to the nail salon and they filed them to they were almost my nails and let them grow out slowly so they didnt rip off the top part of my nail - they cut them down really short they were my real nail with a VERYYY thin layer of acrylic

I just want them off. I think they are wraps. Then they like dipped my nails in powder. Everyone I have asked says to soak them for half an hour. I soaked them for an hour and nothing has changed. I just want them off now! And I dont know what to do. Im gonna see if soaking them another hour will do anything...

If I may... get out a tweezer & get under a loose side & pry them off, that's what I have done, are you going to have a new set put on?

I can't even find a loose side. and they are attached to my real nails even at the top by the white- so I dont want to rip off my real nails. Im not getting new ones put on. I never wear fake nails- I only got them cus 2 days before the wedding my nails were all the same length and then 2 of them broke really low. So I went to the salon and they suggested these.

Are you soaking them in pure Acetone? GO to a Sally Hansen store adn get pure acetone, soak one hand and with the other use a nail stick to slowly lift them. They should get gooey on top-it also helps if you scrape the gooey part off as you are soaking them. Its takes FOREVER!

Or you can go to a nail salon and see if they will take them off-be careful b/c I had a set taken off at a nail salon and htye hurt me so bad that my fingers were sore

It takes longer than an hour to take those babies off. You have to soak and file, soak and file. That's the only way they're coming off. And yeah, you have to use pure acetone.

Take an emery board and gently file away each layer of glue. When nothing looks like it is coming off then soak again. Repeat as needed, and refresh the remover.

It is a long process, pure acetone works best but stinks to high heaven. General nail polish remover has other additives that dilutes the acetone.
Try to resist forcing the wrap off because that will take off a layer of nail and may rip it. If you must, the best thing to use is something very thin and flexible, like a metro card to get under one edge and gently ease it under. The wrap should then pop off.
Buff your nails gently then apply a good moisturizer.

I have been wrapping my nails for almost 20 years and hate this part of the process.

I used a nail clipper and clipped off as much as I could. It took me like 2hours but I somehow managed to pry them off.

The easiest way to do it is go to the nail salon and have them do if for you. I also suggest you get a manicure afterwards because after you take off the fake nails your real nails dont look so good.
