Nail polish - can I wear different nail polish for toes and finger nails?

Hey girls,

I have a bruise on one of my toes, that makes part of my nail black, so it's impossible for me to wear a natural color for my toes. :( However, I really want to wear a natural nail color since I do not see myself wearing red. Besides, red color will not go well with my flowers (ivory roses with blue hyacinth). Could I wear dark red for my toes and natural color for my hands? Is there anything that exists that could cover the blackness on my toe, so that I could still wear a natural nail color? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thank you very much!

Maybe they can use stark white nail poilsh first over the discolored toe and then the natural color on top?

If it still doesn't look good I say gor for the red. I love red polish on my toes and I get it done with a regular french manicure on my hands.

You can definetely have a brighter color on your toes!!! I did it It makes things different. I chose a red/orangy color. My colors were black/ivory/apple green. I got a permanent french manicure and bright toes. Everyone loved it

get a whiter colored polish and have them do 3 coats instead of the normal 2...a french manicure might help also!!!

I always wear two different colors for my toes and fingers. Right now I have a very light, natural color on my fingernails and a bright red on my toes. You totally don't have to match, if you don't want to!

i don't know if there's some rule for weddings, but i do that all the time when i get my nails done: french on the fingers and something bright on my toes.

Absolutely! I almost always do. On myself I don't like light colors on my toes, so I always have a medium or darker shade (usually of pink) on my toes, and something lighter on my fingers.

That's how I plan on doing it for my wedding - light pink on my fingers, medium pink on the toes!

I think it will look fine. Plus people are more likely to be looking at your fingers than your toes (to see your ring!!) So I doubt anyone would notice they're different anyway.

Doing the same. I am leaving for my honeymoon the next day and a french manicure on my toes will not last.

me too

I'd see if the nail person could put a coat of white 1st to act like a primer, then whatever color over that. I think that would enable you to wear a neutral like you want

Oh! I was going to say the same thing. Put the super white color over the toes and then put the natural color...worst comes to worse you just do a pretty red color on the toes and natural on top...I think that's the best way to even wear two colors in general! So, you should be fine either way. If you want a toe color suggestion, I really like the O.P.I color 'I'm not really a waitress.' HTH!
