Nail polish - can I wear different nail polish for toes and finger nails?

Hey girls,
I have a bruise on one of my toes, that makes part of my nail black, so it's impossible for me to wear a natural color for my toes. :( However, I really want to wear a natural nail color since I do not see myself wearing red. Besides, red color will not go well with my flowers (ivory roses with blue hyacinth). Could I wear dark red for my toes and natural color for my hands? Is there anything that exists that could cover the blackness on my toe, so that I could still wear a natural nail color? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thank you very much!

You definately can. I am going to do a french manicure on my nails and light blue on my toes with a brown flower. (my colors are brown with pale blue).
