I don't know what I need to ask for at the nail salon. Are the fake nails you usually get just acrylics? And are they french tips? I'm clueless! It seems like every place I've called so far doesn't do that, maybe I'm saying something wrong!

I am getting the permanent French done. That is acrylic but there are many other different kinds like silk wraps and stuff. I think most people do get acrylic but you don't HAVE to.

I wanted my nails done for the wedding but didnt want them to look fake. So I started about 2 months before and got gel manicures...they held up pretty well

I get the silk wrap. They are a little more expensive but I feel they look better and stay on better.

well you can get acrylic nails put on and just have them do a french manicure with nail polish. Or you can get the permanent french is applied with the UV gel
silk wrapping, is a piece of silk fabric, they cut out a piece and then place it over your nail, then with crazy glue and powder it forms a nail. You apply crazy glue and powder a few times and then file it to shape it

I am thinking of a pernament French! I don't want the white to chip! I am getting them done the day before the wedding! Gel manicure might be a good way to go!
They do have tips that are pernamnet white! Ask your nail salon about that!!!

i got the UV Gel Permanent french two days before my wedding. I think $160 is high; mine was like $90 or something.

personally i would go with silk wrap. I dont like wearing fake nails, i grow mine out but if i break one i will do silk wrapping to fix a broken nail. Acrylic will weaken your nail so keep that in mind. If you dont plan on keeping it that long then its not that bad, but after time the nail underneath gets soft and weak. Silk wrap is also easier to take off.

no not at all, the silk wrap will go over your whole nail so your real nails dont have to be long

if you are not use to getting tips put on, I highley suggest getting UV get french tips they are thinner than acrylic and feel so light and more natural! HTH

Acryllic is really bad for your nail beds...yu should get sally hansen and stop biting for 2 weeks and they will grow and get the gel mani in french!!!!

I get the UV light concept french manicure. It is so much better then the heavy acrylic and my nails are much healthier now. They are very strong too so you wont have to worry about them on your honeymoon
