I need to put tips on for the wedding. Any recommendations and also pricing. I usually get manicures but the polish doesn't last me not one day.

I don't like tips so I'm doing OPI color gel... I tried it already and it lasted a good 2 weeks, so that works for me. My favorite place is in Port Washington near my job.
PS, I've had it done for anywhere between $25 and $35

Re: Nail Question
I'm going to be getting that permanant UV french manicure. My mom gets it all the time and her nails always look perfect, they don't chip, and they last for up to 2-3 weeks before you need to get them done again.

Is the OPI color gel and permanant UV french manicure the same? I have also heard of Pink and white or something in that sort? What is the pricing for these?

FMIL gets the permanent French done and it looks nice.. I've never had it done, but I believe the process is a little different.
I like the gels cause I can keep my own nails... my own nails are too short for French without tips.

Re: Nail Question
I had asked a coworker and she told me that she pays $60 for the initial set. I forget for what kind but I thought that was too much money.

That sounds like that might be right if you're getting tips AND Permanent French?

I'm going to get the UV gel as well, but I've never done it before. Does anyone know of any good places that does this in the New Hyde Park or Garden City area?

yeah the UV permanant is like aplpying something else on top of your nail. So your real nail is underneath. My real nails tend to get very brittle and peel after a certain point so for me this is going to be my best option.
Also as far as color, I am going to do a pink french. I just like how it looks more natural.

I've had nothing bu great experiences in the Angel Tips salon in the King Kullen SHopping Center on shore road.
I work in that Rite Aid, so it's next door and I pop in after work... it's clean in there, usually not crowded and the staff is really polite and they do great work.

I go to the Nail Salon (the name escapes me right now) that is in Middle Village on Elliot Avenue off of 80th St. It's right across the street from Harry's Hardware/Paint store.

In Queens, in Fresh Meadows, Becky's Nails does it quite frequently.. they have a decent amount of colors to choose from
Now that it's going to get warmer though, I'd definitely make an appointment or go early in the morning on a weekend day otherwise it's very crowded and sometimes they feel like they have to rush depending on who does your nails when it gets like that.

That's why I love them too. I can't function with long nails at all so I def. don't want them long on the wedding day. I am actually going to go to the place my mom goes to in the Bronx. But the other place I mentioned in Queens that I usually go to also does this and I have seen them do it while there. They look really nice. Not too sure about the prices though.

I do this ALL the time!!! I swear by it!!
I pay $30 for one color fillin and $45 i believe for 2 colors. They last 2-3 weeks without chipping.
