Nails

My nails are so horrible in the winter, they kept splitting really low which hurts! So I got gel nails, which I love, they are so strong. But, I know they are bad for my 'real' nails. Is it OK to keep the gel nails on for the winter, then let my natural nails grow out? I am afraid I am going to ruin my real nails...but I love how strong they are w. the gel on them And the polish lasts so much better! I get fillins every 2-3 weeks, and change the polish 1x a week.

Re: Nails

I got the 'permanent french' nails and I had them for maybe 4 or 5 months....(tried them out for the wedding and liked them so I kept them)

But them after a while, I wanted to go back to 'au naturale', so about 2 mos. ago, I took them off....
My nails are just starting to get back to normal...they were literally PAPER THIN!

But they do grow back stronger in time...You can certainly do this for the winter and then change them in the summer if you want to....

Why not try Nailtiques instead of the gel nails? If you get regular manicures, which will also improve your nails' condition, apply the n-tiques as a base and then apply a coat every other day, your nails will get stronger and won't split. I swear by the stuff.
