So i'm debating whether I should have nails put on for the wedding... I had acrylics for YEARS... and took them off about a year or 2 ago...
I love how they look, esp a french... but the thing is i know I'll take them off after the wedding since i dont' want the added expense...
would it look dumb if I just had my short little nails on the wedding day? I'd of course get a manicure, but no french... what do you think?

Re: Nails
I think its great! Some sheer pink polish......this is a personal opinion though; I don't like the look of artificial nails. Can you get a french on your real nails? If you don't want to, a sheer pink will be really pretty. Or even clear.

Re: Nails
i know what you mean! i was a total acrylic girl for awhile...then stopped cause spending $50 every two weeks on my nails getting to be a bit much, especially while saving for the wedding!
i want pretty nails, and my natural ones suuuck! so i'm having them put on this week. probably try and keep them again, since i won't have a wedding to save for after Feb!

Re: Nails
I'm going the natural route. Just a simple manicure for my short nails.

you still have 4 months until the wedding! my suggestion is just go for weekly manicures, and grow your natural nails... then by the time the wedding comes, you will have strong natural nails and you can have the french manicure on them

I agree! Do this instead and maybe take some Biotin or whatever it is to help them stay super strong. You can always do a silk wrap - a bit more natural looking but more expensive.
I think I will go in a week or two prior to the wedding, get nails put on then take them off the week after. I've done it before - it's no big deal. I just don't have the money to keep them up!

Re: Nails
i get weekly manicures... I just didn't know if it would look bad not to have nails for the wedding... I can't grow them long - too weak and they split plus I type all day...
thanks girls!
my mom was insisting that I get nails put on ... that they look more feminine...

Re: Nails
I have french tips, my nails don't grow as nice as I'd like but they will look beautiful w/ or w/o acrylics!!

Re: Nails
I think im doing this also... I love how the fake nails look of course.. but i think with my dress i need something a little softer that a white or ivory french... so I am probalby just going to try to maintain my own nails and paint them a sheer ivory color..

I've had silk wrap on my real nails for YEARS!!! I had them soak it off, and my nails literally bent. Needless to say they all broke. I'll definately be putting tips on the day of, because my nails are sooooo weak. They won't be long though, I think long French nails are tacky.

Me too! I hate all of that white with pink...
I got the perm french tips put on, and had them take them off 2 weeks later --- I hated them on myself,,, but on some people they look great... to each his own...

Re: Nails
What about doing a gel manicure? That has the look of wraps but only stays for about a week.

Re: Nails
Of course not. You do whatever you want. If you get a manicure and paint them a nice color it would look great. I am not a fan of fake nails either..had them a few times..kept them up for about 3 weeks then I couldnt take it anymore and took them off. But for the wedding I do plan on having them, but short...then Iw ill take them off in about a week or so after the wedding.

Re: Nails
Your nails will look nice. You still have plenty of time to allow them to grow a tad bit naturally.
I swear by Sally Hansen products. You could start using the products about 3 weeks before your wedding and you'll see that they'll be a nice length - not too long.

Re: Nails
How about getting them silk wrapped. I let my nautural nails grow but they grow quick and long but when one chips sometimes i will put silk wrap over them and its easy to take it off.
