Nails question

I used to have wraps on my nails and they looked great. I took them off to let my nails breath and try to make them healthy again. They are ok but of course not as nice as before when I had them done. The girl I went to did it out of her house and they lasted 3 weeks. Now I really don't want to get them done again because they will be weak and take forever to get healthy again. Do you think it will look really bad if I don't get wraps for the wedding??? I know they are so much nicer but so hard to keep up, hard to find someone who is good at doing them and they ruin your nails. What is everyone doing, own nails or wraps/fakes??

Re: Nails question

I'm getting the fake ones tomorrow. I have to get used to them again so I don't break them for the wedding. After the wedding if I don't want them anymore, I can always take them off. For the wedding though I definately want them.

Re: Nails question

Luckily I was blessed with very strong nails that grow very fast. So I am going with my own nails. What stinks is that the polish will chip (especially a french manicure) so quickly. So I may need to have a manicure or 2 on my honeymoon

With wraps the polish will stay longer.

Re: Nails question

I also have strong nails (I use Nailtiques everyday!), so I'll just go with my own.

JENHOS: I use Nailtiques as a topcoat and my polish never chips. It doesn't come off until I am ready to take it off with nail polish remover!

Re: Nails question

I guess nailtiques it is for me and I will see how strong they get. Do you also get manicures in between to keep them filed etc....???

Re: Nails question

I didnt get wraps for my wedding. My nails were quite short and I had a simple french manicure done to them. There was NO WAY i was going to be dealing with the maintenence of wraps while I was on my honeymoon!

This is a photo taken the day after my wedding so the manicure is no longer perfect but you can get an idea of what the nails look like.

Re: Nails question

I used to get manicures all the time, but now I find that I can do just as good of a job myself. When I do get them done though, I bring the Nailtiques with me to use as a base coat. Then within the next day or two after the manicure, I put on another coat as a topcoat. My manicures would sooner grow out than chip if I let them!

Re: Nails question

Can you get Nailtiques at any drugstore or is it a more expensive brand that you have to buy somewhere else?

Re: Nails question

I usually get it at Genovese where they keep it locked behind the counter with the perfumes. Just a tip: Buy the smaller bottle. It is a better bargain to buy the larger one, but it will get gloppy before you get to use the whole thing!

Re: Nails question

I got my fake nails put on 2 weeks ago so I could get used to them. My e-ring looks so much better with kept nails!

I got an airbrushed french today, supposedly that lasts longer than just the polish kind. I will let you know.

Re: Nails question

I never wear tips or wraps or anything. I have very weak peeling nails. Nothing (they get worse with Nailtiques..I used it for the last 2 weeks).

Today, the night before my wedding, I went to the nail shop to get my regular manicure and somehow convinced myself to get extensions. I figured they can't make my nails weaker then they already are. I have to admit they look really nice.

Re: Nails question

I don't use wraps or tips...and my nails usually look nice...but I was playing it by ear...IF any were broken...I would have had a wrap put on...good thing I didn't need it
